Nick Ferreira. The dude behind Holeshot zine (R.I.P.) and currently Challenger BMX magazine. He’s been putting out printed BMX goodness for a long time. Knowing this, I started wondering what printed goods get him stoked or inspire him, so I hit him up to find out.

Click below to check out a few zines/magazines that Nick is into, along with some words about each one from the man himself.

Let's Go Get Cokes

Nick Ferreira is back with some new printed goods in the form of “Let's Go Get Cokes”.

From Nick:
Let's Go Get Cokes is a 24 page, 8.25″x10.5″, full-color artists' book in the style of bmx and skate magazines from the early 1990's. The glossy and well-worn photographs by an anonymous artist (a former pro-BMXer) are of skateboarders and BMXers – kids hanging out and learning tricks for the first time. The faces in the photos are unclear or cropped out, allowing the viewer to imagine their own adolescence.

Amigos Publishing

amigos publishing

Nick Ferreira from Hole Shot Zine and In The Gnar has started a small publishing company with his girlfriend called Amigos. They just released their second zine – titled Hands Wide Open – it’s a 24 page black+white zine of illustrations by Dylan Goettlich. Check out the Amigos Publishing site and pick up a zine or two!

Nick has uploaded some pics of a box with a whole bunch of new Holeshot issues onto his Flickr page, which leads me to believe that a new issue is available, and IT IS.

Also, check out Harrison’s Q&A with Nick HERE, if you haven’t seen it yet.

Nick Ferreira on Vimby

Today must be Nick’s day because right after I posted the interview with him, Jordan from Vimby hit me up with a link to a rad video Vimby did on Nick. Nick actually just got a job as the online editor for their action sports blog. Nick says he still has to come up with a name for it, but with Nick behind it, you know it will be dope!

Nick Ferreira Interview

Nick Ferreira is the man behind the Hole Shot zine. We hit him up to ask him a few questions about Hole Shot and how he got started doing zines. Hole Shot is rad and I’m psyched to see where Nick takes it!
