New Year’s Drive — Photo Dump

Processed with VSCOcam with m5 preset

On the first day of every year, a hundred or so Porsche enthusiasts meet up for an early morning coffee in the Valley and then move swiftly through some amazing empty mountain roads while southern California sleeps.

A special thank you to all who get wasted on New Year’s Eve and make this beautiful experience possible every year.

Here’s an iPhone pic dump for all of you who enjoy Porsches new and old. Pics by (and of) Ryan Fudger, Dave Mavro, Jim Bauer, Brett Rubin, Matt Crooke and yours truly.

Easy On The Extras

Easy On The Extras is a new image blog that you should bookmark ASAP. Brought to you by good friend and Defgrip contributor, Mike Ardelean, you’ll find a great mix of cars, clothes, and other awesome stuff… with a focus on the cars. Spending time on the site is making me want a car again so bad… I haven’t been paying much attention to cars since I’ve been living in New York for the past few years… Just wishing I had a brownstone in the West Village with a secrete garage that could house a collection of vintage Porches… One day… hahah… For now, check out Easy On The Extras!

Quintin / Ludwig Van / Mike Ardelean

Quintin sent through information regarding this new hat they are releasing with Ludwig Van and Mike Ardelean.

From Quintin:

We teamed up with our good friends over at Ludwig Van and have turned a cache of decades-old Burlington Mills (“deadstock”) selvedge denim into this new collaboration. The 6-panel cap features selvedge denim, leather embossed patch, stash pocket inside and a Mike Ardelean signature embroidery on the side, with the result being a clean and tonal snapback cap.

For more information on this project – visit HERE.

Click below for more pics of the hat, as well as a little edit featuring Mike and some behind the scenes stuff.

Quick 605 Ditch Edit

Last week I was in L.A. working on some projects with Chad Moore and during our down time we got to chill with Nuno and Mike Ardelean. It’s always rad when a bunch of us from Defgrip get to meet up and we made the best of our time together by riding some chill spots and eating at some dialed restaurants.

I didn’t really have any intentions on filming anything or putting an edit together, but I ended up messing around with some shots at the 605 ditch and threw a quick edit together last night. We all met up at Odyssey and headed to the ditch… It was Jim Bauer, Nuno, Ardelean, Luis Pinzon, Maicol Chaves, Ryan Quinones, Chad Moore and me… The edit is super short, with a few clips of Chad, Mike and Jim, but the session was dope. Nothing better than riding with your friends at a quiet spot on a sunny day!

Verde in LA

Will Stroud was out in LA recently getting some footage of Mike Ardelean and Jesse Whaley for Verde and I came across some photos of the guys on the Ludwig blog. The girls from Tiger Tiger shot them (their first time shooting BMX) and there are some good shots in there. Check a few out on the Ludwig blog and the rest out on the Tiger Tiger blog.

Mike Ardelean in 411

Joe Cookie just uploaded Mike Ardelean’s part in 411. I was super stoked when this part came out and It’s rad to see it again. I had a section in the same issue that was on TCU the other day and It’s pretty cool that Mike and I were in this issue together before we even knew each other.

Mike Ardelean Bike Check

There’s a bike check up on the Odyssey site with Mike Ardelean’s new Verde. Not sure how we missed it, but Nuno and Jim B have new bike checks on the Odyssey site as well.
