Mat Hoffman and the Lars Ligament

When Taj mentioned that he was working on a secret BMX project, I was VERY intrigued. Definitely not let down either. This is rad, a Taj Mihelich illustrated Mat Hoffman story. Such a great story.

In 1999 Mat Hoffman endured an experimental synthetic ACL replacement surgery with no anesthesia. He stayed awake while doctors drilled through six inches of bone. Story told by Mat Hoffman and illustrated by Taj Mihelich.

Hoffman / VBS TV

Jordan from Say Mayday alerted me to this piece that VBS did on Mat Hoffman (BMX legend just in case you don’t know). It features Johnny Knoxville and a bunch of other rad people talking about Mat, as well as some riding.

The Birth Of Big Air Premier

The Mat Hoffman documentary – The Birth of Big Air – is premiering tonight in New York City at the Tribeca film festival. I’ve heard from a few people that the film is AMAZING and one person (who’s not even a BMXer) said they’ve watched it four times already! I can’t wait to see the film and I really wish I was able to make it to the premier tonight. If you are in New York, you can’t miss this. I heard there are giong to be some rams and Hoffman might actually ride a bit! The Come Up also just did a post about a “top secrete” after party that the infamous Daryl Nau is hosting tonight. Like I said, if you can make it out, there should be no excuses for missing this. Keep reading for all the info about the film and the party!
