The Signs of Austin

the signs of austin, texas

I’ve lived in Austin, and I know a lot of you are from there or have at least visited (especially if you ride bikes). One thing I noticed on my first visit was all the great signage. Whether it’s hand painted or big neon, there is cool signage all over town.

I just came across “The Signs of Austin” site, which has illustrations of recognizable signs by Reagan Ray and some facts about each one. It’s pretty rad, go HERE to check it out.

We’ve featured Chris Piascik numerous times on the site before, so it only makes sense to let you all know about his new Kickstarter for “Another 1000 Days of Drawing” (as a follow up to “1000 Days of Drawing”). Go HERE for more info. Chris posts daily drawings on his site and Instagram and plans to run a second book of these rad illustrations.

Chris Piascik

Damn, just came across Chris Piascik’s stuff.

His SITE is full of all kinds of sweet illustrations that I just spent a 1/2 hour looking through. Extra bonus for the background in BMX.

Cool stuff.

Q&A: Jon Contino

Honestly, I don’t know what took so long for this Q&A with Jon Contino to happen. Harrison and I both love his stuff, we’ve featured him on here before, so there really is no excuse.

Anyway, Jon Contino is an amazing illustrator based out of New York who specializes in hand lettering. His work looks authentic, unique and has a vintage quality that can’t be faked. I can’t say enough good things about his stuff. Real deal right here.

All The Buildings in New York

Nuno sent over a link this morning to a blog titled ‘All the Buildings in New York’… Which is “An attempt to draw all the buildings in New York by James Gulliver Hancock.” Pretty stoked on the drawings and it would be amazing if he completed his task and actually drew every building. Check out the site here. (via¬†bldgwlf) p.s. how dope of a name is Gulliver Hancock??
