George Costanza Style

Best thing I’ve seen all day. A very humorous breakdown of George Costanza’s clothing related to todays trends from Start to Finish. It’s funny because every time I watch Seinfeld I always marvel at how bad their clothes are… But this post made me realize I’m completely wrong. George Costanza is on point… HAHA.

Richard Avedon: Darkness and Light

I was quickly swallowed into this nine part documentary about the amazing Richard Avedon. If you have some time to kill and are looking for an extremely inspiring way to kick off your week, have at it… Even if you don’t have a bunch of free time, watch one part for the next nine days, I guarantee you won’t regret it.

Jeremy Hollister

Jeremy Hollister is a photographer from New York who is also the founder of the creative studio We Are Plus. I got to meet Jeremy when I was in New York through a few random events and since then, we have been working on a few projects together. One of the projects was a site for his personal work.  When I met Jeremy, I had no idea, but he is an amazing photographer and has been shooting a bunch of editorial work as well as some great film pieces for clients like Nike, Mac Cosmetics, and Virgin Mobile. I’m really excited about how Jeremy’s site turned out and it’s definitely one of my favorite sites that I’ve built and it’s hard to go wrong when you have great images to work with!

2010 Pirelli Calendar

Images from the 2010 Pirelli Calendar have graced the pages of probably every website in the world, but for some reason, they haven’t made their way here yet. Shot this year by Terry Richardson in Brazil and only distributed to top Pirelli customers and other select people, the calendar has been in existence since 1964, featuring a new “super” photographer each year. Previous photographers have included Annie Leibovitz, Nick Knight, Mario Testino, Peter Lindbergh, and Richard Avedon (to name a few). What sparked this post was a behind-the-scenes video documenting the whole shoot with interviews with the models and Terry Richardson. All the images and video are pretty NSFW, but keep reading to see some of the shots from the calendar as well as the behind-the-scenes video.

Roxanne Lowit

Roxanne Lowit‘s photos make me want to be rich and famous… Not that I don’t want to be rich and famous every day, but her photos that give you a behind-the-scenes and intimate look into the celebrity and fashion world are amazing. Starting out as a textile/fashion designer she began taking photos in the 1970’s and was one of the pioneers of the behind-the-scene style that is extremely popular today.

Maciek Kobielski

Check out some great photos from Maciek Kobielski.

Bruno Barbazan

Check out some great photos from Milan based fashion photographer Bruno Barbazan.

Valeria Lazareva

I stumbled across Valeria Lazareva‘s work through a maze of image blogs. I don’t remember where I found the photos, but thankfully they were properly credited with a link right back to the photographers website. With great colors, interesting subjects, and intriguing composition it was easy to spend a long time looking at each photo set on Lazareva’s website. Broken into four sections; editorial, personal, travel, and interior there’s no shortage of amazing work to waste your lunch hour drooling over.

Photos Of The Moment

ny times photos of the moment sofia sanchez mauro mongiello

This is how it breaks down; New York times has a magazine called T Magazine, T Magazine has a blog called The Moment, and The Moment has a column called “Photos of the Moment” and that is what the post is about. Photos of the Moment document all of the behind-the-scenes details at the major fashion shows around the world. The most recent show’s have been shot by photography duo Sofia Sanchez and Mauro Mongiello and I grabbed a collection of my favorite shots that you can check out after the jump. Although the photos are not that big in size, they are very captivating and they really give you an inside look into what’s going on and who’s in attendance at these big fashion shows.

B&W Inspiration

I was going through a bunch of the images I have saved on my computer and ended up putting together a collection of my favorite black and white stuff. Check out all the images after the jump.

Get Shot By The Sartorialist

I’m sure I don’t speak for my self when I say that the Sartorialist is one of my favorite fashion/photography websites. If you don’t know, The Satorialist (Scott Shuman) travels the world photographing people with great style. Yesterday Refinery 29 put together a pretty humorous “Step-By-Step Guide To Getting Shot By The Sartorialist”.

Kenneth Cappello

You know when you have photos on multiple magazine covers on the news stand at one time, you are doing alright. That’s what happens on a regular basis with Kenneth Cappello. Cappello is a NY/LA based photographer who we’ve posted on Defgrip a few times before. Since the last time we posted on him, he’s added a blog to his site that has become a regular check for me. The blog isn’t updated as often as some people might like, but I almost like it better… Keeps me waiting eagerly for the next post. My favorite part about his blog is the behind the scenes photos… I just love seeing people in their working environment. I think it goes along right with seeing designers work spaces. What sparked this update was a recent posts of a all sorts of behind the scenes shots that you can check out here.

Check out Kenneth Cappello’s blog here.
