Javas Lehn is a designer and one of my best friends who I met while we were both working at Superbig Creative in Seattle. Out of coincidence, Javas and I ended up quitting Superbig on the same day. I moved to Vancouver to work for MacNeil and Javas went to work for Hornell Anderson in Seattle. Over the past few years, Javas has got to work on some amazing projects at Hornell, including all the work for the Starbucks VIA packaging and a re-brand for Mammoth Mountain. In another random turn of event’s Javas and I are both going to be taking another big step in our lives at the same time. We are both moving to New York in the next few months (yes, you heard it right, I’m moving to New York). To get ready for the move and look for work in New York, Javas has launched a new portfolio site with a nice edited selection of work, as well as some really impressive photography. You can check out Javas’ site here – javaslehn.com as well as his Tumblr and Flickr!

Build, the London based design studio of Michael C. Place has updated with a new website and a bunch of new work. Build has been one of my favorite designers for years and I always enjoy digging through his work.

Trevor Jackson, who we’ve posted on before, has a profile on the ongoing series with Vice and Intel called The Creators Project. The video gives you a look into Jackson’s life as a designer, musician, and label owner. It also covers Jackson’s recent switch from living in a house with thousands or records and other items, to putting it all in storage and basically living/working out of his laptop and few small pieces of hardware. Keep reading to check out the video and make sure to spend some time on The Creators Project site. With almost 50 profiles up already and even more to come, there some great content and endless inspiration to keep you day rolling.

Xavier Encinas is a designer and photographer based out of Paris with a wonderful minimal aesthetic. It’s interesting how much presentation plays into showcasing your design work, and in the case of Xavier, he’s go the presentation down pat. Not only does he have great work to show, he works with great people (like André Pinces) to help him show it. With clients like Nike and The Lab Magazine and an emphasis on print design, Xavier Encinas’s work is definitely worth a look.

KR posted about this issue of Exit magazine on his 12oz Prophet blog last February, but I didn’t come across it until today… I usually check out Exit on the newsstand as well, but haven’t come across this issue yet. None the less, the issue looks great and KR’s got some rad stuff in there including his signature drips on the cover.

As much as you guys might think, I don’t spend that much time on image blogs or ffffound… But tonight was a different story. I got lost in the vortex and by the end of the night, I had a bunch of random stuff on my descktop. Rather than just throwing it into my inspiration folders, I thought I’d do a quick post… Hope you enjoy!

Parshant from Yo, Sick, sent over issue 5 of his zine a few weeks back. He’s been doing Yo, Sick for a bit, but this is his first full size issue. The past zines have been super small, so it’s rad to see a big version. Can’t wait to see more!

The guys at Rebelyell have just released issue 9 of their magazine… But this issue is more than a standard magazine. It’s their “Book Issue” and it’s a 200 page, perfect bound, coffee table style book stacked with great photos, awesome design, and amazing content. Check out a preview of the issue after the jump and check out their website for more info.

We posted on the interior design studio–Roman and Williams–back in March, but the guys at The Scout along with the subject of one of our Defgrip Originals, Ed David, put together a great video giving you a indepth look into their office as well as other work. The visuals are amazing and it’s definitely a well put together, captivating piece.

Frank Chimero is another illustrator whose work I admire. You may have come across Frank’s work in Fast Company, Wired, Business Week or just around the web. Good stuff.
