Brian Tunney: Chris Hallman’s FBM ad Years

It all started with a tweet… and here we are. In this submission, Brian Tunney pays tribute to Chris Hallman and his FBM ad days.

Fans of BMX history and nostalgia rejoice! Brian Tunney just released a new project entitled “Larry’s Donuts is Dead”, which chases down spots from (older) iconic BMX photos/magazines and juxtaposes them with modern day pics. We caught up with Brian to learn more.

Interview: Brian Tunney

Happy New Year everyone! I know it’s the second, but whatever…

We’re happy to bring you our first interview of 2011, with our first victim being Brian Tunney. As you may or may not know, Tunney has been involved in many aspects of the BMX industry. From rider to blogger, Tunney’s been there. So to kick off the year, I asked Brian a little about all these things. Tunney’s awesome.

Soooooo, another year of Interbike has come and gone. You may have already seen a bunch of coverage from the show, but in case you missed anything, go HERE, HERE, or scour BMX FEED.

Besides getting to see and chill with everyone (which is the best part of Interbike), the overall most memorable moment for me/everyone was Chris Doyle winning Dirt Rider of the Year. That dude rules. Seeing Hoder go crazy with Doyle’s Nora Cup was equally as classic, haha…

Click below to check out a video of that, courtesy of Ride BMX.

Shout out to Corey Martinez and United too.

Fuel up on Tunney…

I’m a Tunney fan. Always well thought out and well spoken.

With that said, check out a interview with him on the Fuel TV website.

Mike Vincent Interview

I had a great talk with my buddy Mike Vincent yesterday and he reminded me of this interview that Brian Tunney conducted with him for the ESPN website. It’s a good short read with a lot of information on his accident, his life now, and how we all can help.

nine-ninety bmx magazine zine

Jared Souney just posted a PDF of a one-off magazine that he put together with Brian Tunney sometime around 1998 titled Nine-Ninety. It’s pretty crazy to check out all the photos and see how many dudes are not riding any more or they are just people I’ve never heard of. I wonder if one day, we are going to be re-publishing our blogs and reminiscing about how rad websites were like how people talk about zines today… hmmm…..

Check out Souney and Tunney’s magazine here.
