Jonny Clarke (aka- resident Eastside Trails photographer) provides a glimpse into the radness and sadness of these gnarly trails in Austin, TX. Lots of hard work, dedicated locals, great sessions, but also epic flooding (hence the sadness part).

Nick Ferreira. The dude behind Holeshot zine (R.I.P.) and currently Challenger BMX magazine. He’s been putting out printed BMX goodness for a long time. Knowing this, I started wondering what printed goods get him stoked or inspire him, so I hit him up to find out.

Ran into the homie Codey the other day for the first time in a long time, so here’s a throwback of his rad split skate/BMX video that Dakota Roche put together. Good vibes. Originally dropped in 2012.
We’re proud to finally present you with this Codey Levesque edit, which Dakota Roche graciously put together. Codey and Dak are boys and have been casually working on this for a minute while out having sessions. This is the first edit of its kind that we’ve had for Defgrip, so enjoy!
I’ve known Crandall for a long time, so it’s kind of strange that it took this long to get him on the site in some sort of personal Q&A form. He’s been featured here a bunch, but never like this. Perhaps I always struggled with how to approach it, thinking that Steve has been well documented and just falsely assuming that people know everything about him. With that said, here we are.
This Q&A is broken up into 4 digestible topics, which feels like a good approach. We discuss Art, Announcing Contests, The FBM bus and FBM.

Knowing that our boy Tristan “Gutstains” Afre was tight with photographer Zorah Olivia, I approached him about interviewing her for Defgrip. Pairing a BMX photographer with a skate photographer sounded interesting to me. Luckily they were both down!

We’ve written down 100 random questions and assorted topics, all of which are unbeknownst to our victims. We will be asking people to pick 20 random numbers from 1-100 and then supplying them with those questions/topics to answer. Who knows what might come up!?!?!

2019 marks 5 years since the FIENDING video dropped. When I first posted the video on here, I did so without even watching it first. Ya just knew it was gonna be solid.
It’s always cool to slow things down a bit sometimes and look back, so click below for some FIENDING era photos courtesy of Kevin Conners. Full video embedded as well.READ MORE
The Jimmy Levan documentary, entitled GO FAST PULL UP, is available now and you should definitely do your best to see it and/or own it. Even more so if you came up being stoked on Jimmy Levan’s riding and persona.
After watching the doc, I wanted to hit Chris Rye (who directed/edited GFPU) with some questions about the project. This is a solid read for sure with PLENTY of info and stories. Click below.READ MORE
