I had randomly come across Alex Valentino’s New York gallery on The Diggest and was really into it. I always get stoked when I unexpectedly find out that certain people are into shooting, so I did what I do best and asked him to contribute to the ‘grip and he came through.

2012 was interesting. I moved from Long Beach to Austin, and for whatever reason ended up shooting way less “real” photos than I did in years past. I still carried a camera around a bunch and accumulated some goodies, but ended up with a lot less this year. For real, I’m blaming Instagram (in a good way). No matter the medium, we still have images. This collection of photos is a mix of camera and iPhone pics that I took throughout 2012. Enjoy!

This years Texas Toast Jam is a wrap. As someone who was involved on the back end of this thing, I can safely claim that it went really well. BMX Heavy hitters came out to our BMX festival and it was truly a good time. Thanks to all that came through and/or supported Toast!
I was running around throughout the jam and couldn’t really shoot photos like last year, but I did manage to pull a few. I did take mental notes about random interesting facts/tidbits regarding Toast as well.
A special special very important shout out to Taj Mihelich, Ryan Corrigan, Burly Matt, Clint Reynolds, Nutter, Will Blount and other volunteers for all their hard work and making the jam a success. Nobody can thank you guys and gals enough.

Vans Rebel Jam goes Spain
Cologne, Germany, 7 September 2012. After stops in Germany, Portugal and the Netherlands, the Rebeljam has landed in Spain for 2012. Park, street, dirt and flatland riders from all over the world are expected to make the trek to Eurocamp in Tossa de Mar, on the weekend of 5-7 October.
By riders, for riders is the motto of the Vans Rebeljam. Making the riding scene healthier afterwards is a good bonus. This year Axel Jurgens’ ramp facility at Eurocamp will receive an overhaul for the event and the added constructions will stay after the event. With plenty of camping and hotel facilities in walking distance from the ramps and the beach just 300 meters away, the venue is next perfect.
“The event is open for pro riders only, but there is no special invite needed,” says organiser Andy Zeiss. “Moving the event to Spain for 2012 at Axel’s amazing park we’re expecting a good turn-out. It’s just an hour north of Barcelona and has a private beach. We’re ready for some good times.”
For the first time in Rebeljam history four BMX disciplines will be held: Dirt, Park, Street and also Flatland is back on the program after its success in Eindhoven in 2011. Signing up is possible now on the www.rebeljam.com website. You can also find all accommodation info on the site under the USEFUL button. Use the promotional code (“REBEL”) which is valid till 20 September 2012 to get a discount on the booking.
