Dreamline: Photogallery / Assorted Facts

brian hunt, red bull, dreamline, justin kosman pic, defgrip

This official Dreamline video is really well done. Instead of jam packing it with everything that went down, you get some cool insight and stories from a bunch of people along with some choice riding footage. I know the video thumbnail could possibly make you overlook it, but don”t skip this one.

In addition, Justin Kosman came through with a bunch of extra riding/lifestyle photos he had from the event and below are some assorted facts (Thanks Luke Seile & Ilana Taub).

– Course Length: 1200 feet
– 1500 man hours for the build
– 20,000 tons of dirt
– 65,000 lbs of heavy machinery on-site
– Pitch of Mountain: 12%-15%
– Elevation of top of course: 9700 feet (highest signature series, higher elevation then Utah and Ultra Natural)
– Top speed of athletes: 38mph
– Biggest jump: 14 feet (transition to lip)
– Highest air (bottom of jump to athlete height): 29 feet
– Angelfire dirt is special because of it”s clay to dirt ratio, makes a perfect texture to build and sculpt when water is added
– It took four months to find this location and we looked at over 20 different Mountains

INTERVIEW: MIKE “ROOFTOP” ESCAMILLA

rooftop, defgrip, mike escamilla, interview, bmx

It”s been a minute since we’ve had a nice big feature interview on the site, and I’m happy to change all that with this new piece on Mike Escamilla. Mike ( AKA Rooftop ) has had a powerful and interesting BMX presence for some time with plenty of video parts and photos to prove it. Never one to bite his tongue while simultaneously probably putting his foot in his mouth, it”s always interesting to hear what Mike has to say. His riding and history says the rest.

DISPOSED: Killed By Bone Deth

bone deth, killed by bone deth, trip, bmx, photosgallery

Welcome to the first Defgrip Bone Deth Disposed feature, as shot by Dean Dickinson. As you would expect, there is plenty of interesting and unique scenarios in this one. Check back soon for an edit from this trip as well. Enjoy!

From Sean Burns:
Expose your salty tickle holes and dispose the rest. The KILLED BY BONE DETH TOUR seen from the snaps of Dean Dickinson. The internet may be a social disease but it treats BMX as a big fat media bomb. So here you are, explode yourself a sneak of what life is like on the road with the Bone Deth deadman team. Soon enough you can see some video action of the tour. Maybe not the full hammered scenarios… that's too weird and wild for BMX internet? That stuff will be saved for our DVD that's in the works. We try to avoid the noid of larger cities and wealthy areas, that's why we spent a lot of time in Bethlehem PA. Slugged out, beat up, old timey, full of trash, glass and broken homes. In some sense we just want everything to be filthy, ROTTEN, dirty. One mans Trash is another deadmans treasure. The tour featured weirdos such as Colt Fake, Albie Bennett, Dirt Ron, Party Management, Lee Hopkins, Waffle, Chris Crawford, Kert Petersel, Dean Dickinson, and myself.

Photogallery: Sosh Urban Motion

The Sosh Urban Motion project/contest is a wrap and above you can check out the 1st through 3rd place edits which feature Alex Kennedy/Richard Forne, Alex Donnachie/Peter Adam and Maxime Charveron/Thibaut Grevet. Pretty awesome, considering the premise was to film an edit using only an iPhone.

In addition, Hadrien Picard came through with a sweet photogallery from the making of these. Read his intro below, then click to check out the pics.

From Hadrien:
Just a month ago, 7 teams from France & UK of one rider/one filmer were invited in Paris for the 2nd edition of the Sosh Urban Motion. They had a week to produce a clip & I’m sure everyone will agree that it was an awesome time.

We saw some of the best riders & filmers creating some amazing clips, only in a couple of days, only with a smartphone…

I was there to organize the contest with Yann Colignon but I also had the chance to follow the teams and take some pictures.

A huge thanks to Sosh & all the teams. You rule.
