Animal just released a new backpack called the “Kenmare” to go along with their ever expanding clothing line. The bag is made in the USA and Animal put together some words and photos to tell the story behind why they chose to make it in the USA as opposed to making it overseas.

aNYthing is one of those brands that continually has some of the best/most obscure references in their clothing, dope cut and sew lines, and an amazing community of people creating work for the brand. ALYK. has always respected and liked aNYthing, so when we had the opportunity to do a look book it was a no-brainer.
Just down the block from Dah Shop and the Manhattan Bridge Skatepark, the aNYthing storefront is a rad place to check out the new gear, peruse the huge collection of zines, watch LES tweakers, eat dollar dumpings, and hang out front on the bench. The GLOB is always updated with parties, galleries, and weird shit to do in the City as well. So, even if you’re an OT cat you’ll be able to find something to do.

My old friend Darren Meenan (of Manmade fame) is doing a cool sports-based line called The 7 Line. I’m not really into sports, but I can tell this stuff is pretty cool in a tongue-in-cheek sports banter kind of way. It feels honest, but maybe that because I know Darren has been a Mets fan forever.

Once he got out of the system, Mike Ardelean immediately told us he’s on the team, and that we needed to send him a box of hats. As we’ve gotten to know him over the last year or so, it’s become evident that he has a strong mix of characteristics that allow him to persevere through the worst of times and shine at the best of times. There’s something undeniable about Gabe that we wanted to translate onto a hat. We hope by the powers of osmosis that a part of Gabe is instilled into your psyche.

Our signature quilted front panels are made from Midnight Blue Summer Wale Corduroy and padded with styrofoam. This buttery hat is for all those summer drinking nights you have with your buddies. Versatile enough to wear to the club, that backyard BBQ or chilling poolside.
I ain’t gonna lie, the insoles really make this shoe for me. The overall shoe looks great, but I think the insoles are a perfect detail for a Kachinsky shoe. Nice one!

SELVEDGE X PROJECT
We teamed up with our good friends over at Ludwig Van and have turned a cache of decades-old Burlington Mills (“deadstock”) selvedge denim into this new collaboration. The 6-panel cap features selvedge denim, leather embossed patch, stash pocket inside and a Mike Ardelean signature embroidery on the side, with the result being a clean and tonal snapback cap.

My old friend Mike Dytri is one of those “never not working” types that gets you pumped to go accomplish things, and on top of that I love the irony of him being such a “design guy” that you’d never know that, just for fun, he’s also a MMA killing machine.
I met Mike back in early 2000 when he was doing all of the creative for MOSH, which was a cool time because he was exposing all of us BMX kids to some fun stuff… introducing us to the staff at Big Brother, having our ads shot by fashion and skate photographers, and hooking us up with free custom-made, shrink-wrapped graphic tee shirts from his line Subfreakie.
Most recently, with his brand Ludwig Van, he’s collaborated with Vans to make an interesting run of shoes that have gone over quite well.

Josh Suhre’s Operativ Brand was announced a few months back and have now dropped a new website featuring their first clothing line. Their team is small but stacked and the designs are looking nice and clean–head to the Operativ website to check out rider bios and their full line.
