I’ve been doing a bunch of updates on the MacNeil site. There are all new team pages and the whole site has had a little face lift. There’s also two new bike check’s, one with my new ride and the other with Jaumell Campbell’s. And Travis Collier has a pretty cool update with a bunch of his design work for his grad show.
Check it all out here - macneilbmx.com

There is another benefit for our friend Mike Vincent that I just came across on the Odyssey site. For more info on Mike click here and here’s the info from the Odyssey site.
As many have heard, a fellow BMXer, Contest Judge, fixed and road rider was struck down by a car a while ago. There will be a benefit ride and raffle for Mike who is still in the hospital since January. Come out for the ride to show your support and maybe win some good prizes. I heard there will be a brand new complete Odyssey/Sunday bike there for the raffle, among other bmx/fixed/road things. Probably a good chance to win too. Come out! See you downtown this weekend.
Sunday April 6, 1pm
starting at Chinatown Metro Station.

Lotek got a blog… or a blarg?

Check out an interview with Joe Simon on the Team Crossroads BMX site about their recent “web” video that they released.
Check the interview here.

Earlier this week I had gotten an email from Sandy Carson saying something like, “Hey, would you like me to send you one of my band’s CD for review”? My response was, “I didn’t know you were in a band”, and “send it”. I email with Sandy every once in a while, have him as a Flickr contact, and I still had no idea, ha!
Anyhow, that bands name is Iglomat, and features Sandy and friends all contributing and having fun on a music project. The songs are mostly instrumental, some have breakbeat style drumming, and some with voiceover samples such as “Tornadic Activity”, which I like a lot. There’s a nice mix of genre’s going on. I totally didn’t know what to expect, but I sincerely have been enjoying the CD since it came. Absolutely.
Anyway, I figured a Q&A was in order since this was all new to me, as I’m sure it is to most of you, so click below to see what Sandy Carson had to say.

We are going to be doing some new ads on Defgrip and to get everything rolling we are asking everyone to take part in this survey. It’s super quick and they questions are pretty easy (if you check The Come Up, it’s the same survey they had over there)… We are doing it just to get a general idea of who everyone is and we’d be super psyched if everyone takes a second to click a few boxes!! Thanks so much and we really appreciate everyone for all their support with everything we do!
Click here to take the survey.

As you can probably tell from the past few days, Chad Shack has joined us in the blog! Chad’s been contributing his photos for the Photo Of The Day’s for a while, but we are psyched to have him fully involved and posting in the blog. Judging from Chad’s first few posts, he’s going to have some great content to contribute and we are all really excited to have him aboard!! Fell free to give Chad a nice welcome in the comments and if you haven’t been up on the Photo of the Days you can check out all the archived photos on our flickr page.

This Photo was taken on a day trip to Princeton College. This spot is a hit or miss usually. Sometimes you can ride it for hours, other times you get swarmed by 5 or 6 cops on bikes with spandex shorts on.
This happened to be a good day so JJ Palmere got the time to pedal his ass off up this slant wall and do a sweet barspin.

I’ve been pretty into the Robust Flavor blog lately. Robust is basically an online version of the UNIV shop, where you can get everything from Coup De Grace denim to Marc Jacobs sunglasses, with plenty of humor added to keep things interesting.
They were so kind as to post up an interview with me the other day, but perhaps more notable are articles such as “Mongoose Vs. Cobra Vs. Dr Phil”, an interview with a dude named “The Package”, an interview with Sung Choi of Clae Footwear, and a recurring article called “Allan on Cars” where UNIV employee Allan spits knowledge about, yup, cars.
