The Shadow Conspiracy team spent some time in Atlanta at the beginning of this year doing a bunch of team stuff and working on their pirate radio show. Their trip was just featured in the newest issue of Ride UK (issue #109) with some great photo by Keith Terra and to go along with the article, they just released a nice web video.
Check out the Atlanta Invasion video here!

You may have read about H-Man in past issues of Ride UK or DIG, or seen his name around the Streetphire website.
Here, he fills in some blanks for us.

Several years ago, after a heavy rain, I got into my car and opened the sunroof. When the roof slid back, water dropped and splashed onto my center console. I looked down and saw the droplet formation you see in the photo. Luckily I had my digi cam in the car (thankfully not inside the console itself) and was able to snap a photo of this unusual feat of nature. If you look closely, it actually looks like it spells “evil” above the question mark.

I just came across Aurel Schmidt’s work on Supertouch and I had to post on it… Yes, I’m blogging about a blog, but whatever. Aurel’s work is amazing and you should definitely check it out.
Emerging from the East Village art scene with a style as distinct as her name, Schmidt is the rare artist with profound imagination, sheer technical power and a fantastic sense of humor who is able to switch between hyper-detailed obsessive/compulsive technical rendering and fun, simple, Pop-inspired imagery with ease. Her medium of choice remains pencil & crayon on paper but the incredible detail and complex tones of her tightly executed imagery give her fantastic tableaux’s the depth of oil paintings.

New York Magazine has a great cover story on nine designers that have changed the way we look at our world. They highlight interior designers, architects, and graphic designers. Ever wonder who created the graphic for the New York Subway System?
Great design is like the Bill of Rights. We get so used to having it around, we don’t even think about it anymore. And as much as we might complain about what we don’t like, much of New York is fantastically thought-out. Street signs, dinner china, perfume bottles, sofa fabrics; we forget that, at some point, someone put serious effort into making the mundane beautiful…

As most of you know, Stephen Murray took a serious crash at the NBC Dew Tour on June 22, 2007 that left him paralyzed from the neck down.
Stephen Murray came to the United States from New Castle Great Britain over 10 years ago with a dream of riding with the best athletes in the sport. He came over here originally as a BMX racer but quickly took to Dirt Jumping and Freestyle in the scene of Huntington Beach and Sheep Hills.
2001 and 2002 marked the biggest year for Stephen Murray of his career. He won the Gold Medal in Dirt Jumping at X Games and back to back wins at the Gravity Games, the two biggest contests at the time.
On Friday June 22nd at the AST Dew Tour BMX Dirt Finals in Baltimore, MD, Stephen Murray took a horrific fall on the final set of the dirt section while sending a double back flip. Stephen has received career ending injuries to his spinal cord and vertebrae.
During the Dew Tour Finals in Orlando, NBC aired a special on Stephen about his accident and how you can help. The special is now up on YouTube and encourage everyone to check it out. Stephen is struggling to take care of all his expenses. To give you an example of how outrageous his bills are, his wheelchair alone was $20,000+. There are funds set up to help Stephen and his family and anything you can contribute will help… even if it’s just $1…
To find more out about how you can help Stephen and his family check out the Stephen Murray Family Fund.

After the disappointment that was Nikes Nothing But The Truth (how can a company with so much money get it that wrong…) London’s hosting another skateboard premier later this week. For me, alongside Dan Magee Josh Stewart is one of the best filmers and editors in skateboarding and this will be an interesting contrast to the Nike feature. The full flyer’s after the break, tickets are £3 from Slam.
There’s a short trailer here.
