If you are into footwear, and aren’t able to track down hard copies of sneaker freaker magazine, then you are in luck.
Some great features always make their way online, and I just came across the Vans interview (w/ Steve Van Doren) that came out a little while ago. It’s a good read, and you will learn a bunch about a classic company.
Check it out here.

Mutiny just set up a Flickr site. Check it out. There’s a bunch of photos from the Etnies premier in Austin and a few other random shots on there to get things going. It will be cool to see what else they have to throw on there.

It’s an exciting time for Giant BMX right now, as we’re starting to see the results of all the work Kevin Dana and I have been doing since I started in February. We just got in some sample 2008 frames, and since these bikes don’t launch until late June, I took some photos of them to give you a little preview. You can see a few of the details here–stickerless paint schemes, Spanish BBs, CNC-logo’d head tubes, trimmed up dropouts and tubing, and also something we’re working on for the near future: externally butted chainstays to prevent denting. I threw in some photos of my setup at the bottom.

Last night was the Grounded premiere at Etnies headquarters in Lake Forest, Ca.
Etnies held the premiere in one of their warehouse spaces that was big enough to comfortably fit everyone who showed up, which is always a good thing. Everyone from “industry types”, bike shop dudes, riders and people from overseas all came to support.
Now, onto the video. Grounded can pretty much be summed up in one word, “Wow”. I know that’s vague, but it’s something I found myself and others around me saying while we we’re watching it. In fact, I think I may have slight hearing loss in my left ear from Fudger yelling and giggling throughout the video in amazement/confusion.
Barring any messageboard know-it-all’s, I’m pretty sure Grounded will be getting good reviews all around. There won’t be any spoilers here, but do note that any of the pictures you’ve seen in ads or on cover stories fully come to life and do not dissapoint. I also left with the feeling that Ruben’s part will be very influential for street riding.
Ultimately, the crowd was super energetic and put those “tasty beverages” they mentioned on the flyer to good use. Etnies also gave out little clapper noisemaker things, so people we’re making noise and screaming after almost every trick, which is obviously a good sign.
Be sure to pick up Grounded for your collection, and check back soon for some photos of the premeire.

This last week accidentally became United Bikes Am week, which isn’t a bad thing, just a funny coincidence.
This time, United/DUO rider Nathan Williams fills in some blanks. Continue Reading »
