Ferrari Comercial

ferrari_video.jpg

I don’t really know much about racing cars, but I do know that this is one of the most incredible things I’ve seen for a while. (The previews for the Planet Earth Show on the Discovery Channel come pretty close though).

Check out an amazing HD commercial from Fararri (or Shell) here.

Time Magazine Re-Design

time_magazine_re-design1.jpg

In what I feel is a fight with the internet, Time releases their first issue of a major redesign today. Pentagram, a very well respected and influential design firm worked with the Editor and Art Director of Time to create an updated look based off of the “Time DNA.” The re-design is hopefully going to take Time from a periodical that gets browsed through for a few days and tossed, to a magazine that gets treated more like a book putting emphasis on timeless articles rather than daily news.

Check out more info on the Pentagram blog.

The Fader

Fader cover

Issue number 44 of The Fader is out now, and along with it comes their iTunes podcast featuring a DJ-mixed 40-minute block of songs from the artists featured in the issue. I’m about two thirds of the way though it right now, and it’s so nice. Styles vary (we’ve got melodic rock with intermittent Fam Lay and Bone Thugs) but it flows together. DC rapper Wale also had a sick verse on one of the tracks.

I recommend that you go to The Fader’s website , download the new issue (if you don’t already have it) and subscribe to the podcasts. Free and easy.

Steve Bancroft Autophoto

steve_bancroft_autophoto.jpg

We are excited to bring you the first Autophoto on the new site. When I hit Steve Bancroft up he was in the middle of photo editing the up coming photo issue of Ride UK and was busy as hell. In case you don’t know, Steve is the Asst. Editor at Ride UK and takes the majority of the photos you see in that mag. The photo issue will be out very soon and I’m sure Steve has some great pics in there, but for now, check out the selection Steve put together for us.

Check out Steve Bancroft’s Autophoto here.

Defgrip Stickers

defgrip_stickers.jpg

Jason Morris, form BMX Feed hit me up one day and asked if I wanted to get some die-cut stickers done. He and his friend Damian have a plotter and do a bunch of die cut stuff. Of course I was down, so I hit him up with some files and a few days later, a nice tube full of die-cuts were at my desk. Big thanks to Jason and Damian for hooking it up!! There are not enough stickers to pass out and I’m real sorry, but please don’t email about them. We will be getting a whole bunch of stickers really soon, so for now, these are just some nice one-offs for the Defgrip crew.

DQM x Trackstar

DQM x Trackstar

A few weeks ago my buddy Mike Vincent hipped me to the upcoming launch of these DQM x Trackstar bikes, and today Juse sent me the link to a full photogallery on Razor Apple. Even those who are annoyed at the recent overload of old-school BMX references in popular culture MUST be tripping down memory lane when they see that these fixed-gears are based on the aesthetic of every BMX bike we used to sweat when we were 8 years old. It’s also crazy because I’m sitting next to Dean Bradley, who designed the Haro Freestyler with Bob Haro in 1986, and he’s tripping too.

Click here to see all eleven of them at Razor Apple.
