Head on over to the Odyssey site to check out a nice Chase Hawk edit.
Also, if you haven’t been over there yet, check out the Aaron Ross edit too! Keep an eye out for bi-monthly web videos from the whole ODSY team on their site.
This is a Defgrip Exclusive edit in conjunction with MacNeil Bikes and 5050 BMX. Filmed and edited by Jason Eichhorst, featuring Salt Lake’s Jayson Johnson. Jayson hits some parks and a few dirt jumps and throws down some serious stuff. They claim that is’t just typical every day riding, but it’s looking pretty amazing to me.
I’m sure some of you Defgrip viewers ride fixed gears, and most of you probably think its a gay trend. Regardless, I’m posting this little clip/promo for it’s simplicity, the fact that I didn’t know what was gonna come and that controlled skidding like that is impressive.
I Met The Walrus is an incredible short film that’s been making its rounds on the web. It’s even been nominated for an Acadimy Award. “In 1969, a 14-year-old Beatle fanatic named Jerry Levitan, armed with a reel-to-reel tape deck, snuck into John Lennon’s hotel room in Toronto and convinced John to do an interview about peace. 38 years later, Jerry has produced a film about it. Using the original interview recording as the soundtrack, director Josh Raskin has woven a visual narrative which tenderly romances Lennon’s every word in a cascading flood of multipronged animation. Raskin marries the terrifyingly genius pen work of James Braithwaite with masterful digital illustration by Alex Kurina, resulting in a spell-binding vessel for Lennon’s boundless wit, and timeless message.”
I was just browsing Hypebeast when amidst all the sneakers, I came across two great web videos. The first is a short film about Jim Jarvis, a British illustrator. There is some great shots of his work and it’s really interesting to hear him talk about his creative process and the way he approaches projects. I think his last quote is pretty great and so true at the same time. It can really be translated across all aspects of life. The second video is a trailer for the Beautiful Loosers film. The trailer has been on the web for a bit, but I haven’t watched the whole thing until now. It looks like a great film and make sure to check the screening page to see if the film is playing near you. It’s funny because the one place it’s playing in Canada is Winnipeg and I’m just going to happen to be there when it’s playing!
I could watch Chris Doyle footage anytime… He’s a rider that, no matter what, I know I’m going to be psyched to watch ride, and thanks to the Duo blog there a nice new edit by Will Stroud for your viewing pleasure. It looks like the footage is a collection of clips from the past year or so and there is a handful of Vancouver park clips in there and the filming is amazing… Hey guys, can I put in a request for a higher quality version??? I know everyone would be psyched!
Doyle’s dope and so is this edit. Check the video out after the jump - Continue Reading »
T Magazine is New York Times Style Magazine. I’ve never actually picked up a copy of the magazine, I just always see it laying around my mom’s house when I go and visit. I do however check their website quite often and I always get really wrapped into their videos. The series that I’m most psyched on is the Screen Test series. In this series, they sit a movie star down against a black backdrop and ask them questions. A few of the videos I didn’t find that interesting, but the majority of them are great. The first on that really got me psyched was with Joseph Gordon-Levitt… and the most recent one was with Seth Rogan. I’m sure it helps that these guys are professionally trained to talk in front of a camera, but I think the combination of the questions, the actors, and the editing make these videos really good.
There is a cool little short film on the Adidas site with Michael Sieben and friends. There’s also a pretty rad behind the scenes feature on the Fecal Face site that’s worth checking out.
Check out the short film here and the behind the scenes feature here.
