This Thursday May 15th, Los Angeles will pass a law making it illegal for taco trucks to stay in one place for more than an hour. Failure to comply will result in fines up to $1,000 and possible jail time, despite the fact than most taco trucks have designated curb spots which their customers are familiar with, and some of them even pay rent for those spots.
If you live in LA you already know the importance of the taco truck, so go here and here to read the stories (above photo borrowed from the LA Times website - thanks) and then go to this website and sign the petition.
Maybe if Los Angeles lawmakers made it illegal to, let’s say, drive 55mph in the passing lane on the freeway, they could unclog traffic and actually help fix one of LA’s many problems…… As far as I can tell, the ability to enjoy delicious Mexican food at your convenience for dirt cheap prices is not one of them.
The other day I got a text from my little buddy Nick Gregory telling me that if I wanted to come riding, I had to come quick because he had a meeting to go to. Dude is 16 years old and goes to meetings. Turns out he and his (Anytime) crew are organizing a jam at the Venice ramp on Sunday November 25th.
If you are anywhere near LA, come ride (and eat). Aside from having the get-up-and-go to assemble an event, revamp a mini ramp and lock down this list of sponsors, these kids also know how to party.

Bakers Acres is one of those places that has bmx lifestyle written all over it. It has a good mix of friends, jumps, hard work, BBQ’s and good times, which is basically the foundation of what we do.
Steve Crandall sent a few pics of the more interesting aspects of the place (you already know what jumps look like), and wrote up a little background on the place. Oh, and that road sign above is hilarious.

These Long Beach California benches should almost be instantly recognizable. Although not the “main” benches made famous by Brian Castillo/old S&M videos (to me anyway) which have been removed for a while now, the one’s pictured are still a guaranteed go-to spot for anyone swinging by the area.
