Odyssey X Flickr

If you haven’t seen it yet, Odyssey has a Friends and Family group going on Flickr. This is where you can upload your Odyssey related pics and see what kind of other Odyssey related photos are out there and the photos also show up on the Odyssey Blog. They even have their own flickr page going with some Blog overload and random photos.
Make sure to check out the Odyssey flickr group here and if you are lucky you can catch some photos from Nuno and I in there!

Nuclear Blast Photos

Another photo post that has been floating around all the blogs is a collection of Nuclear Blast photos that Wired Magazine gathered together. I’ve always been fascinated with the whole nuclear thing… The testing, the shear power and damage that can be done, and just the imagining living in an era where nuclear bombs were a serious threat… It’s just so far out and extreme for me to even comprehend… and these photos really show how incredibly powerfull the whole thing is. The photo above was taken seconds after the Nagasaki bomb went off, it was actually taken so fast that the three people you see walking on the street, have not even reacted to the explosion… I can’t even imagine what it would be like to be there durring the bombing…

Day’s With My Father

I cam a cross this amazing photo essay on Cool Hunting and had to post it. Photographer, Phillip Toledano spent some time with his father after his mother passed away, shooting photos of his everyday life. The photos are very touching and the site design is pretty solid.

Empty Pools

I stumbled across this amazing photo set on Notcot and knew I had to post it. Similar to the abandoned hotel post, photographer Gigi Cifali traveled around the UK, shooting empty pools that had been abandoned or shut down. There’s no direct link to the gallery, but you can check out some of my favorite pools after the jump. It’s interesting to see the lack of transitions in all these pools. I don’t know my pool history, but I’d be interested to learn when they started building transitions into pools.
Check out the whole series on Gigi Cifali’s site and some of my favorites after the jump. Continue Reading »

Natasja Fourie

I should just let David Lang take over posting on the site because he sends over so many good links. The latest is a portfolio site from the photographer, Natasja Fourie. Fourie has some amazing photos, but what blew me away more was the site. I don’t know if I just haven’t been paying that much attention to Flash sites, or if this thing is really that good, but I just can’t stop thinking about it. The full screen option that displays the site like you are watching a movie is amazing, the background screen type images are incredible, and all the type and design details are spot on. This is definitely one of my favorite sites I’ve seen in a while and I don’t think I’m the only one judging by all the awards the site has won.
