Incase | Krink | Arkitip

krink_sleeve-pulls.jpg

Incase just droped a rad colab project with Krink and Arkitip. For their first project, they all worked together to produce a pretty dope laptop sleeve for MacBooks and MacBook Pro’s. The project is part of a “Curated by Arkitip” series and to go along with the release they have put together a pretty cool video about the whole project.

You can see everything on the Incase site and make sure to watch the video - Check it here.

Kaws X I-d Video

kaws_id1.jpg

I posted on the Kaws issue of i-D a few weeks back and didn’t really have much info other than a few photos and a blog entry from Kaws’s blog… Well, the issue is about to be on the news stands in North America and it’s probably already out in the UK, and to go along with the release, i-D just posted a nice video on their site with Kaws. The video is a short interview piece starting with a bit of history about how Kaws got started and then focusing on the i-D project. I can’t wait to check this issue and I really hope I can get my hands on a Kaws copy.

Check out the video here.

Rob Chiu/The Ronin

theronin.jpg

Rob Chiu or The Ronin just completed the directing and editing of the Webby Awards Intro Sequence for Digital Kitchen. The Sequence is shot all in one day throughout Manhattan and Brooklyn. What really caught my eye was the motion work. There is a really nice use of expressions, motion tracking and 3D, without going overboard. I am not too familiar with Rob’s work, but after a quick glance at this piece I spent a while searching around for more. Here is a you tube link to his summer ‘07 reel, its really good.

Kaws X i-D Magazine

kaws_id.jpg

I’ve seen a few blog posts about this project over the past few days, but I was just checking out Kaws’s blog and got to see a bunch of the pages for the issue of i-D he just worked on. Kaws was invited by i-D to create an artist series type limited run of their latest issue. From what I can see on his blog, it looks like he was handed finished pages where he applied his art all through out the issue. There have been guest editor type projects that I’ve seen before, where a celebrity or whatever is invited to help put together the issue, but this project looks like it has taken that concept to the next level. Not only did Kaws contribute his art, he also helped with editorial content and interviewed Nigo of A Bathing Ape. I’m not sure how limited the Kaws copies are, or even where you can get a hold of one, but I really hope I can track one down.

Check out a nice preview on Kaws’s blog here.

Krink on CNN

krink.jpg

Check out a short little feature about Krink on CNN that I came across on the Supertouch blog. Krink is a company started by graffiti writer KR and even though the piece is short, it is a nice reflection of how you can take something that you are passionate about and turn it into a brand.

Lightning Bolts Artists statment part 1

thumb_1.jpg

The Lightning Bolts show is over and was a huge success. There have been tons of posts going around the blogsphere with photos and info from the show and it’s great to see BMX getting so much exposure. We have artists statements from all the artists that were in the show and it’s pretty dope to read their bios and see how much BMX influenced their lives. We’ll be posting all the statements through out the week, so keep checking back. Check out some more photos from the show and bios from Lee Basford, Jeff Tremaine, Greg Higgins, Joe Polevy, and Kevin Wilkins after the jump.
