SPOTS: LONG BEACH BENCHES

lb.jpg

These Long Beach California benches should almost be instantly recognizable. Although not the “main” benches made famous by Brian Castillo/old S&M videos (to me anyway) which have been removed for a while now, the one’s pictured are still a guaranteed go-to spot for anyone swinging by the area.
Although this isn’t the most epic spot, it’s still good for some quick nibbling or to dial in a good run using all 3 benches. Also, the beach is right there too.

Unfortunately, these benches have recently been knobbed up, but that doesn’t really stop you from grinding the top section (notice the black tire smudges), or from doing manuals and whatnot.

That’s a shame, I was only able to get 1 good session in on that spot. It’s not a shame, it’s a problem.

That sucks, I gaurentee that the top will get knobbed after whoever owns the place notices that people still ride them.

I hate when spots go away.
luckily Minneapolis isn’t that blown up so spots tend to stick around for a long time. still sucks to see something that looked really fun to nibble on gone.

I don’t know if taken the knobs off is a good idea cos there were skaters in melbourne, Aus (my town) and they took these stoppers off these rails near a cafe, the cafe just removed the rails…thanks to dickheads that spot got ruined then, they ruined it even more
