LEFT/RIGHT VIDEO REVIEW
Left/Right. Ryan Navazio’s latest project must seem to have come out of nowhere to most people, when in reality, it’s been in the works for a while. Thankfully, the end product is a super enjoyable 28 minutes (w/ credits) of street riding.
I’m not going to sit here and write a long winded review about every little detail and spoil the video. You guy’s will have to source it out and absorb all the goodness yourselves, knowing that it will be worth your money.
You already know that all the dudes featured in the video are rad, or else they wouldn’t be there in the first place, so I’m just going to list the parts in order with some breif info.
Rob Wise- Fast, burly lines with rad rail stuff (forwards and backwards). The tucked 180 over the rail from the cover shot was too smooth. The standouts have to be the backwards up-rail stuff.
Larry Alvarado- Larry’s got all the serious rail moves and grinds down, and his part proves it. The standout for me has to be the feeble to 360 gap drop.
Joe Mcintire- Fun street lines, including bent over pole icepick stuff. The standout for me was the feeble to hop up manual-to drop manual-to smith-to quick nose wheelie on the Long Beach benches.
Dave Belcher- Good mix of rails, gaps and other street stuff. The standout has to be the hop over rail to icepick.
Kurt Rasmusson- Kurt respectfully deserves the closing section with his versatile, smooth effortless style. The standout for me was the 180 over the wall, and that wasn’t even the closer. Check for that.
In between the main sections are 2 montages with people like Jared Washington, Van Homan, Edwin, Tom White, Sean Burns, George K., Daryl Tocco, Vinnie Sammon, Dakota Roche and many, many others. Dakota’s clips shine through for sure. In fact, my only real beef with the video is that Dakota didn’t have a full part, he definately deserves it.
There is also a “Philly” section with Paul Horan, Tom White, Wiz, Mark Gralla, Chris Reyes, Evan Ayala and John greenage. Some wild moves here, good job Philly!
Overall, the video had clean straight forward editing and kept the effects to a minimum. It wasn’t too long or too short, and the riders chosen represented a good mix of up and comers as well as pros. Lot’s of good surprises and moves in there. The song selections seem to have fit the parts and imagery/riders real well, but I can still see somebody complaining about them (you can’t please everyone). It was also weird at first to see some of the same dudes (Horan & White) twice between the montages and the Philly section, but that’s not really a minus since those dudes are rad.
Left/Right does what any good video should, make you want to ride. It also deserves to be in your collection. It should be available soon through better shops and mailorders, or tell your local spot to contact Animal.

video was great. just like it says above it makes you want to go ride. kurt’s part is the stand out for sure. but the entire video is full of creative clips. Dakota’s nose manuals out of rail are scary good everytime. also goodsbmx.com has copies.
It wasn’t a team video so to say Dakota should have had a full part is stupid. Every one in the video deserves to have a full part.
A lot of dakota’s clips came after fitlife, which was more than halfway through filming left/right. I just asked him to get some clips, then we went back and forth over him having a full part but we both decided if he had more time he could film a better part. So we’ve been filming pretty much non stop for a different video…hope that makes sense.
I’m excited to see this, it seems like it will be “one of those videos”.
