London Plaza…

Photo Gorm, December 2006

So this has come of a bit of a surprise, I saw some plans for a plaza being put together on Kingpins site a while ago and had forgotten about it until this flickr account surfaced on Streetphire. The people responsible for the project are the same skaters behind the Side Effects of Urethane exhibitions and have received some art council funding for the project. The predictably bad news is it’s skate only, looks amazing though and with the redeveloped Cantelowes doubles the number of skateparks in central London.

Nope, I’m hoping to get a look at it early next year, have you ridden there Robin? I can’t believe its had so little attention, it’s like that Mudchute place in the Isle of Dogs.

I not sure how anti bike the people who’ve produced it are, if anyones got any more information let me know…

on a completely different tip in a completely different part of the world, apparently that new concrete-mega park in the cayman islands also a bike free zone. whats wrong with these people? skaters get so precious about skating, its fucking ridiculous.

It will stay anti bike if those people with access to the media don’t support people trying to address the issue.
