Nike Sportswear

Nike just launched a small site for their new, highly blogged about Sportwear line, that’s dropping soon. I can admit that I was way into Nike’s not so long ago and still have a closet full of em, but these days, I’m more for the simple shoes like Vans, Convers, Lotek and Pointers. I guess my whole style has evolved over the past year or so and I find my self wearing way more simple stuff… I don’t think I even have one t-shirt with a graphic on it at the moment. I’m way more into cut, fabrics, and all the small details and the Nike Sportswear line is exactly that. Built off of classic pieces, they focus on fabrics, cuts, and simple ways to improve the products. The site that was launched is pretty minimal and only has small previews of some of the stuff. They do have a cool little video of the whole release that went along with the Lightning Bolts art shot in China and you can see some cameos of Spinner and Nigel. There is also a photogallery for the Windrunner featuring Nigel and it’s dope to see Nigel in there with his bike. Thanks to Shino for the heads up.

Im not into that kinda stuff. Nike should stick to Basketball and jock sports and stay away from BMX. Theyre just trying to make a quick buck off “action sports” and “action sports athlets”. What they don’t get is that we are not “athletes” and BMX isnt a sport. Just my opinion though.
i see where your coming from with that drew, i feel the same way about some aspects of bmx… lol but hey, if nike wants to step in and manufacture me some choice apparel, i won’t complain. although im in the same boat as Harrison, and simple blank clothes suffice for me aswell…

Is that why Macneil hasn’t made any new t-shirts in the last 2 and a half years? You guys always drop the ball on that stuff. You make some okay stuff, then you don’t make any for another year and a half. FBM puts new shirts out every month, ’cause it’s easy to do, and it’s pretty much free money. How come Macneil doesn’t want to make money?
Well speakin for myself I’ve worn lumberjack edition Nike Air Max 1’s for years and they’re my favourite shoes to ride in. So keep ya Vans etc. Nike’s all the way!
Darryl… It definitely sucks that we haven’t been able to make shirts for a while, but my preference for blank shirts has nothing to do with it. We went out on a limb and made full cut a sew shirts in Asia, but doing this, we had to deal with huge minimums and financially it’s not smart for us to make new shirts when we are still sitting on a lot… There’s definitely more to the whole shirt thing, like shipping, stocking, etc, that I won’t go into. It’s rad FBM can make new shirts all the time because they print smaller quantities on basic t’s… Not saying that’s bad, it’s just a different situation. It’s also a lot easier if you are a company in the states that doesn’t have to worry about bike shops and distribution and can just sell shirts on their website and make their “free money”.
i think i’d have to agree with drew on that one, although it seems like they’re trying to make an effort with the contests they had but even with the 6.0 deal i think that’s all divided up into the other “xtreme” sports as well (snowboarding, mtn bikes, rollerblading etc…and i could be completely wrong about that ) so i find it kind of hard to believe that they are putting money back into bmx instead of just “cashing in” where’s the money in bmx anyways?
as for darryl… free money? seriously…
