Corey & Colin Aussie Super 8mm Video
My good buddy, Stewart Munro from Brisbane, Australia sent me over this edit. It stars Colin Mackay and Corey Bohan and was filmed on a Canon 1014 XL-S super 8mm camera with Black and White reversal film. He is currently wrapping up Post Production on his new film starring Corey and Colin and some others.

colin mcKay is awesome and bmxers are super good at being original. Sweet. good musak… stop sucking bmx.
Uhckkkkk ewww @ young folks… I want to hear an old 30’s or 40’s song now!!!!!!!!!!!
super 8 is underused in bmx vids today. so is 16mm…unfortunately film is expensive.
that was dope. the ghetto telecine was awesome too! i want more.
Bangin’ clip. 8mm is ill.
Sorry, but I’m agreeing with Josh…
I’m feelin it..
Yeah, I’ll have to agree that the song doesn’t fit with that style, but i enjoy each one seperately.
Whats the song?
not to be a dick, but take away the super 8 and that was just a stock park video with a song that has been used twice already, and super 8 isnt under used in bmx videos there are a lot of video’s with super 8 in it,but too much of it looks stupid.
super 8 wasnt around in the 34’s and 40’s…
hey lee, you want to give an example of a major bmx video in the past couple of years that has used super 8? only two i can think of are “cutting it deep” and 5050 thats it, and those did a fine job if you ask me.
Hey Guys thanks for all the good and bad comments!I have shot alot of super 16mm and super for my dvd and im just waiting on it getting transfered to mini DV.I will have a trailer up by the end of this month!thanks from stewart
i think what Lee is talking about is super 8 footage of birds and waves and shit. It really shouldn’t matter what camera you use.
haha ron’s comment is so funny
voices had a lot of super8 so did attention stalybridge (manchester video)
but it wasn’t really the over use of it,it was the riding,it was bland and stock, like i said dont mean to be a dick its just my opinion, its expensive to develop so i wouldn’t bother wasting my money on a stock park edit you could see o the come up everyday.
yeah i forgot that everything in BMX has to be hardcore and street. some people make videos for fun, not to appease some salty streetbag.
Who said it has to be hardcore and street? It’s retarded to put that on a pedastool because it was filmed with super 8, if it was long lens dv or hd or whatever it wouldn’t even be on here. Plus there have been some really good uses of super 8. See the Anti Hero flick tent city.
is it really that retarded to put something unique up on a “pedastool”- i mean, it is different and that is exactly why it’s posted- because it’s not the same as the background noise. the riding is not the only facet to a video. this is like bickering about something not being art because it was drawn with a pencil instead of ink.
its a different and unique factor that you don’t see often these days; that is why it is on here. that is like saying “if the riding wasn’t good, it wouldnt be on here” to a video that is filmed poorly.
Someone should make some 28in rise 8in wide bars and call them the Super 8s! Do it. Hahaha BMX is awesome.
Haha I knew I butchered that word but really I don’t think it looks that different but check this.
“this is like bickering about something not being art because it was drawn with a pencil instead of ink”
That’s exactly what I am talking about if it’s super8 why is it better than mini dv or a camera phone or whatever. You can make things look different without using super8.
i hear ya nick. i personally would have gone about this in a much more experimental way- but that’s just me. it’s different because you dont shoot super8 like you shoot dv. you can just point and push the button. manual everything is a really different shooting experience and even though the riding may have been nothing special compared to other web vids (i thought it was still dope), the shooting of it was not. the time it takes to set up a shot before pulling the trigger on it makes for a very different experience behind the camera. i know that doesnt often translate to the screen but it’s an integral part of making the movie. that’s what makes this different and unique.
I hear ya barking big dawg…
