SLOWEST GETAWAY IN HISTORY

tsml.jpg

These were posted up all over my block this last week. At first I laughed, because people are normally looking for a missing dog or cat, then I pondered if it was a joke or not. I’m guessing it’s not a joke???? Who knows.

we moved a foot long snapping turtle off the road today on a road ride. he was pissed. a pet is a pet though, its weird what you can get attached to.

damn, this sucks. A good friend of mine has a tortoise, such a great guy, his name is russel. He’s about twice the size of a golf ball, super young, but they live like 85 years or something, maybe more. He moves though, slow and steady. Would suck if he got lost.

I’ve definitely seen signs like this numerous times before down in North County and SD, this really does happen a good amount. I don’t understand how they expect to find a hard shelled friendly amongst grass and shrubbery… Who goes out and looks for a tortoise anyways?

it must suck to have a pet run/crawl/fly away.

yeah, the whole is… how many obstacles does a turtle have to go through before it has escaped??

It has to get out of its cage/space/habitat, crawl away, make it out of a door (assuming one is open) or a gate if its outside, and on top of that, it doesn’t move too fast. The whole thing is mindboggeling I tell you…

“I don’t understand how they expect to find a hard shelled friendly amongst grass and shrubbery…”. That reminded me of the movie Monty Python and the Holy Grail…you know??? The nights of NEE! hahahahahaha. Best movie EVER.

If youre turtle did escape and you noticed like atleast 6 hrs later you would have to search only like a 50 yard perimeter if that, lol.

tortoises are fairly common pets among mild climate areas. they are great pets as well. i have two red eared sliders, but they are aquatic turtles. i do want a tortoise tho. and the longest lived tortoise lived to like 175 years i think. she died in 2006 just shy of her 176th birthday.
