Sigur Rós Heima

sigur_ros.jpg

I’m having trouble starting this post… The whole topic could go three ways and I don’t really know what to focus on… Should it be a technical post talking about the quality of videos on the web and how small box “youtube” type videos are going to quickly be a thing of the past, where they get brought up in conversation like our parents talked about black and white TV? Or should it be about the amazing imagery of the trailer and how well the piece was put together… Or should I focus on the band and their cult like following… In any case, I think I’m just going to let the trailer speak for it self and let you decide.

I came across this post by David Lang on the Gnarwhale site about a trailer for a new Sigur Rós DVD. The DVD is titled Heima and it’s a documentary, following the band around their homeland of Iceland, playing free shows for anyone who shows up, in some of the most beautiful locations I have ever seen. There are a few different options for watching this trailer, but you should definitely take the extra few minutes and watch the 1080p version… It’s amazing.

Check out the Heima trailer here.

I already own this DVD and if you are even mildly interested in Sigur Ros you should do yourself a favor and get a hold of it.

I on the other hand have a love affair with the band and was completely blown away by the DVD.

Too bad I left it in Ohio.

I got this DVD in December, probably one of the best band documentaries I have ever seen. It will blow you away, Sigur Ros (victory rose) will blow you away in general.

I highly suggest anyone interested in cinema go out and pick this DVD up.

That does look good, and Iceland seems like it would be a great place to visit.

by the way, is iceland real? it looks so unbelievable. no wonder bjork looks like a fairy, she comes from a made-up land of mountains in the clouds and waterfalls that fall up.

the DVD is great but you have to check out the new video for Gobbledigook (may have spelled it wrong). Its a great song and vidoe,Ryan McGinley and Sigur Ros. It came out just in time for summer, its really good and it shows that Sigur Ros is no “one trick pony”.

The Icelandic landscape looks like the places sung about in Dragonforce songs.
