One Handed Music…

At a time when the music industry is in a state of disarray it takes some serious balls to start a record label. Get Familiar is the second release on the fledgling label One Handed Music and proves that there’s still a market for tangible forms of music if it’s good enough. It’s been a long time since I’ve been so into a hip-hop release. I’m not going to better House Shoes quote on hearing it for the first time though:
“After listening to the new Bullion joint, i drove back to Detroit,
THE HONORABLE DJ HOUSE SHOES (USA)]
It’s worth the purchase which you can do here
If you want a physical copy then click here
As a reward for making it past the jump here’s a link to an essay on music censorship written by the head of One Handed Music. It was the winner of the Orange essay prize on censorship and is well worth the read

Wow that essay was worth a read…
Solid post.
I really like it although it sounds like a fusion of Harmonics 313 and Flying Lotus. Nice nevertheless.
the paul white ‘the dragons fly’ 7″ on this label is really good
and if you like that sort of stuff you should check out http://www.myspace.com/samiyambeats too.
I think that the next release on One Handed is a Paul White album and his remix of Bullions Rude Effort is out of hand.
It’s such a small world, the myspace link you provided has Ques artwork on some of the flyers, dude did the artwork for a T shirt we released at an instore last year… Good shit.
