Evil Monito Magazine

In keeping with the LA theme, Rickey Kim has launched the 22nd issue of his Evil Monito magazine online, under the theme “Neighborhood Folk” which spotlights Echo Park and surrounding hoods. I haven’t read the whole thing yet, but the first thing that caught my eye was this eye-opening article about the homeless population in Downtown Los Angeles.

Read it here.

Good Magazine did a feature on skid row a couple of issues back. I couldn’t believe the numbers. The largest concentration of homeless people anywhere in the world, almost twice as many as New York. Good also said that there is video proof of mental institutions dropping people off downtown to get rid of them. So sad.
