Another shitty attempt by a corporate shoe company trying to align themselves with bmx history. Nike was around in the 80’s. Why did it take them 25 years to show any support for bmx? And what are they really doing now. An art show in China with a bunch of oldheads? Please. They’re just trying to make it look like they’ve been down for bmx since day 1 and they weren’t. Don’t buy into this crap.

The Olympics should never go ahead in a ridiculous country like China for starters. The fact that an exploitive company like Nike are doing this too just adds to the misery…

Nike represents everything wrong with BMX. A big corporate company trying to make money off ignorant kids who don’t know any better. We should be supporting companies like Orchid and Lotek, and even Vans and Etnies, who have supported BMX and are not only in it for the money.

I wish I had enough money to buy my way into a whole sport and other subcultures

I agree with the above replies. Hasn’t Nike already gone down this road and high tailed it back out on multiple occasions? Annual cost-benefit analysis’s of investing into bmx does not constitute actual caring or believing about the last 30 odd years of bmx history.

basically what I’m trying to say is fuck Nike.

When kids realize that riding in basketball shoes isn’t cool, Nike will go away.

Paying rad people rad money to do what they love… lame?
Suck it up… good products and good people getting money when you support.
No one else is steppin up… work it if you want it!

Nike is the main sponsor and supporter of our US Olympic Team. They are putting a lot of effort out to show case one guy’s art, Bob Haro. The 6.n0 program is absolutely terrible, but I have no issues with Nike as a whole. Well other than they need to actually get a hold of some new forward thinking designers.

“shane” pop art? Bob was doing it before most people in BMX knew what a bike was, and now most people are biting him.

    Nicely said Taylor.

The two funniest comments from above:

“The Olympics should never go ahead in a ridiculous country like China…”

“…Vans and Etnies, who have supported BMX and are not only in it for the money.”

It seems like most large companies seem to have a good idea in mind, or someone on there side is looking out for the little guy. But as soon as these major corporations start getting involved things start getting fishy… for example: http://www.pdxbmx.com/2008/03/fuck-dc-shoes-b.html.
I know this is the second time posting this, but I feel this should be brought to light more, even though it is old news. Be careful what cooks you let in your kitchens.

Nice collection of artists with this HARO racing plate thing-NOT.. They didnt try to hard to find talent or do press.. Does Bob Haro even know about this?
~Very sad i did not get invited. To bad NIKE had to fuck a good thing up and pretend they care about the BMX ind.

hmmmm… think you need to look into those artists again mr koch (without the bitterness) and the work they produced (have you actually seen it?).

try not to be too sad
