Over the last couple of days, I’ve been listening to this new “Dillagence” album a bunch. I’m not sure if it should be classified as an online album or a mixtape, but whatever it is, it’s not bad (especially for free).

Dillagence is a collection of songs featuring Busta Rhymes (and others) exclusively over beats by the late J-Dilla.

As it goes, Dilla had given Busta a bunch of music at one point, and Dillagence is the culmination of that. According to Busta, some of the music on Dillagence is off rough mixed beat cd’s, and not fully polished up in the studio afterwards, which gives it that dirty/raw hip-hop feel that some people love. The quality isn’t terrible by any means, but don’t expect an over produced-slaved over collection of music. There’s definitely some songs I skip through, but overall, this is one of the better free downloads in recent memory.
