ANIMAL ONLINE STORE

Along with their new website, the Animal guys have also set up an online store.
You can pick up a bunch of stuff, including the Blue Woodgrain cap seen above, which I haven’t seen available anywhere else. But hey, I’m not everywhere.

69 bucks for a sprocket?
nothing against Animal I use some of their parts, but those caps are just ugly
I like animal a lot, great parts and great riders. But, as someone who runs a BMX shop, the online store is seriously going to kick the small bmx shop in the balls. I know, you’re doing limited stuff that isn’t done in high enough numbers to be worth proper distro. BMX shops still want it, to be part of the community, the more limited the better. I know parts aren’t available everywhere, so it gives people a chance to get them who usually can’t. BMX shops should be opening, you should be trying to open accounts in smaller places rather than selling direct, and mailorder shops all ready handle it. And, you know there’s a lot of competition out there for a small BMX shop, having to compete with brands is kind of complicated. Maybe I should order less product from the brand that has an online shop, because since they’re selling direct they are my competition. Supporting my competition is hard to do, especially when rent’s due in December. I think, sometimes, that BMX thinks of the industry as the brands and the riders, completely ignoring the shops.
In Animals defense though, the final retail price is higher than the main online sellers.
In one way, this kinda discourages someone from buying from them (paying more), but that still leaves animal the option of having things available to riders should they need to absolutely buy it from them.
