Smart House
I went to check out the Smart House with Jim Bauer the other day while we were riding bikes around my neighborhood (we’ve both been counting down the days until the Smart is released in the US) but didn’t even think to post it on Defgrip until Nuno forwarded me this feature from NOTCOT.
So click HERE to see an amazing photo gallery featuring the Smart House, a temporary modern showroom for the Smart car where you can drive the car, check the view of Venice from the rooftop lounge, and even reserve your own Smart for its early 2008 arrival in the states.
Thanks to Nuno for the link.

When I first got to Australia, I was struck by how much smaller the cars were in general, but then I saw these zipping around (in person, finally), and it further underscored the fact that I drive a boat when I’m in the states. I’ll admit however, that it would be tough for me to give up the ability to throw my bike in the back to hit a spot that wasn’t in pedaling distance.
Also, the two seater smart looks small even here, where cars are generally much smaller than in the states, where it must look miniscule. I’d feel a little sketchy driving one sandwiched between two 909-style F-250s.
Yeah. But I just think of it as a much safer motorcycle, rather than an unsafe car. I’d keep my big car for going riding, and just use the Smart for whipping around, or for commuting.
It sucks that inevitably going to become a teen girl car. Give it a year after they come out. By then, smarts will be synonymous with rhinestone covered sidekicks and abbreviated phrases. OMG that sux
I could almost drive that car through the front door of my house, haha. Those things will sell good in Cali but in Texas they’ll sell like a brick(accept for Austin of corse!).
Yeah but I bet you won’t catch those teen chicks in this one.
Nice one. Then you could bump Black Star out of it… and only $50K USD
