The Animal jam was—as it always tends to be—chaotic. Rather than dive into the crowd and try to shoot over and through the masses, I stayed in the back and watched from afar. So when Joey Piazza decided to grind the flatrail by the chess tables (over my chrome Lenghty and someone else’s bike) it was just a matter of being in the right place at the right time. It’s perhaps worth noting that said rail is a good eight inches over bar height–and that one of the first shots I ever took with my digital SLR was of Joey doing the same trick on the same rail over a year ago.

Thanks! I wanted to shoot it again from the other side (where you can see how high the rail it really is) but Joey had riding ADD and wanted to move on to something else. The framing was cooler this way anyway. I
