Apple Keyboard

Sometimes it’s the little things that really get me psyched. Apple just dropped some new stuff yesterday, new iMac, iWork 08, and the new keyboard. It’s been a bit since we posted on apple releases on Defgrip. I think none of us really feel like Apple needs juice when it comes to a new iPod or the iPhone… everyone knows about it, it’s all over the internet, the tv, newspaper etc, but when a product comes around like the new keyboard, it’s not so publicized, but equally as dope I have no problem giving it some juice. It’s been a while since a new keyboard has dropped and if you are like me, a new keyboard would never hurt. I can’t wait to pick one up! Just look at the design, so sleek and solid and you can finally say good by to all the dirt and food crumbs building up in your keyboard. There are some new, apple specific keys, such as brightness, play/pause, Exposé, and Dashboard that have been added to the keyboard and there is a, from what I can tell, laptop specific wireless version with out a number pad. I have yet to use one of these, but from the look of them, they are going to be dope. I just wonder how the F# keys are going to work with the feature buttons like volume etc… are you going to cancel all the feature stuff out to properly use the F# keys in dreamweaver and flash?… Oh yah, the new iMac is also dope!
Check out the new Apple Keyboard here.

always fresh. i might have to retire my keyboard now.
the design on the keyboard is remarkable, and im super psyched on the aluminum finish to complement my cinema displays, but one thing that worries me is the ergonomics. With the macbook style keys it looks like it might hurt to use for extended periods and the bottom row it really close to the desk. which may be bad for the wrists. i dunno. i guess ill just have to wait and see.
That keyboard is so trick its making my face hurt
with you on the concern about the wireless one for pro apps and the function keys though
Is going to take a lot to stop me wanting one though
i was wondering when defgrip was going to post something apple…but im really excited about this keyboard. i’m not too much of a fan of the macbook keyboard style, so i dont know if i’ll buy one, but this is still a great design nonetheless; definitely pushing apple lightyears ahead of any PC company, in my opinion. the new imac is incredible too, it’s so thin! im glad they’re phasing out the white and going for the aluminum, it looks amazing. the other good thing about this keyboard is that it will still look good when used with a mighty mouse too, and doesnt make a mighty mouse look out of place.
nerd nerd geek nerd geek geeky nerd nerd. That’s pretty cool.
It’s beautiful, but I’m also worried about the ergonomics. I have to use one of those wrist cushions if I type for an extended period of time. This looks like it could be hurty.
Could Apple design be any more bland? Granted they make great products and their usability is generally really well thought out, but the design is just flavorless, bland and not exciting at all.
I am always amazed how people who spend their life creating original design and art get crazy about such commercial aesthetics. I know there are not many altenative choices, but still.
It’s a computer keyboard! Why on earth would you want to post something about that? Or is this about getting design credibility and showing off the size of your penis to the guy at the urinal next to you?
start your own blog and show me anyone who has better design than apple in the computer industry…i guess that’s your opinion, i personally think their stuff is sleek and powerful looking. would you rather see some cheap looking black plastic piece of crap that comes with a dell or hp?
Does it really matter how a computer looks? Personally I am much more concerned with getting the best performance for my money, in which case both Dell and HP are significantly better than Apple. I can agree with any Mac geek that for many purposes Apple’s OS is much more user friendly and better suited than Windows or Linux or whatever, but since we were talking hardware I can’t say that the premium price is worth it. And as for the design I stick with my opinion that it’s vanilla. It’s a flavor that everybody likes, but that’s hardly exciting.
If I wanted to try to get some design credibility, I wouldn’t post on such a main stream company. As far as being concerned about how it looks… Yes, for some crazy reason, I like to have nice looking things, even if it’s just a computer. I might be going out on a limb here, but I don’t think I’m going to suffer any performance loss with this keyboard, I think it’s is going to perform just as good as every other keyboard out there. I am not going to get in an apple vs. pc debate, because there is no right or wrong answer and this post was in no way talking down pc’s. I posted on a computer keyboard because I was psyched on it and I created this blog simply for that reason, to share with people the things I’m psyched on.
Having cool looking shit helps the creative process in my opnion… from stuff hanging on the walls all the way down to my keyboard(which isn’t very cool at the moment).
Good point. When your work space is more inspiring you’d probably be more inclined to spend more time there and possibly be more productive. I guess for some having an Apple computer would be the feel good factor they need to be able to work.
Thta and not understanding how to work a PC… and the fact that you have to sift through so much garbage if you don’t know anything about PC’s
i think you guy’s should stop, think about this really hard… and then go to a strip joint ’cause you’re nerds and you need some stimulation…… now before you all get pissy at me i’m kidding…sort of, strip joints are cooler then keyboards….
i have so much shit in my apple keyboard right now…. that one is looking nice.
