We’ve written down 100 random questions and assorted topics, all of which are unbeknownst to our victims. We will be asking people to pick 20 random numbers from 1-100 and then supplying them with those questions/topics to answer. Who knows what might come up!?!?!

Up next, is the one and only Ryan Nyquist.

Best halloween costume you have worn?

I was an Ewok when I was really young. My mom made the costume, and it was legit! Even had a stick that squeaked when you hit people with it.

What is the word you overuse the most? What word do you wish you used more?

I say “apparently” too much. I find myself saying that A LOT, and I start to become super annoyed with myself. Either that or “awesome”.

I wish I used to words/phrases “sorry” or “I’m wrong” more often. Those are hard things for me to say genuinely but I’m working on it.

What advice would you give to a younger you?

I’d probably just tell my younger self to just keep doing what makes you happy and what makes sense to you. Back then, I would have never thought I’d have taken the paths I have in life and in BMX that I did. I’d also tell him that you can learn something from every mistake you make, and even the mistakes that others make, and those lessons will help make the paths in life you want to take a lot clearer.

Give us your best / favorite recipe of any kind.

Twice Baked Potatoes – I could eat those all day, every day! I used to make them for all my friends in Greenville. I never heard a bad review.

Who / what are your influencers in life? Name five.

My parents, my close friends, my wife, my kids, and some really great teachers and employers I had along the way.

What would be your ideal weekend?

Saturday would be an all day riding excursion with friends. Maybe ride a good park first then finish off at a fun set of jumps. Then dinner and drinks with my wife while the kids were at home with a babysitter.

Sunday would be all about family. Spend the day with the wife and kids. Either at the beach, our favorite park, or going on a hike through the redwoods. Grab a bite to eat and let the kids play some arcade games for a little while. Then meet up with my dad and brothers and their families/friends for some fun quality hang out time and then dinner. Kids in bed by 8, then my wife and I relax in front of the TV for a few shows.

Give us some words to live by…

Be yourself. Everyone else is already taken.

Communication is key.

What is a weird, strange or funny story about something that happened to you?

I once had a ex girlfriend stalk me. We dated for a short time, and then I went off to college. I randomly saw her at the 99 X Games in San Francisco in the crowd during Park practice. She looked super tore up, and proceeded to tell me, and the rest of the crowd surrounding her, that she called every number she had for me to try to get a hold of me, looked up my college dorm number, called my old college roommate, drove to my school to try to find me, and tried to drive to my parents’ house to contact me. I told her straight up, “Wow… it kind of sounds like your stalking me.” She didn’t like that. She shouted, “SHUT UP!!!!”, I told her it was nice to see her, and rode away. She then tried to sneak into the athlete area but I told security that she wasn’t with me and they took care of it. Hahaha!

Who are some people you enjoy following on Instagram?

Fuzzy Hall – Always posts some entertaining stuff. See also @TheshadowBMX

Duncan Gore – Just because he’s the man.

Shea Nyquist – Because he always has some really creative or cool stuff going on.

If you had the chance to interview anyone in the world, who would you choose?

I’ve been asked this question a few times and it’s never easy to answer. I usually answer Albert Einstein. I know he’s no longer living, but he just seemed like a very interesting person with an amazing mind. He has theories that people are still finding to be correct to this day about some seriously complex things. That kind of free, open thinking intrigues me.

When was the last time you stepped in dog shit?

Yesterday and the day before that. I dodged a few bullets today. My dogs poop a lot.

How many hats do you own?

Maybe 20… All Rockstar hats.

Shower. Bar soap or loofah/liqui-soap combo?

Bar Soap. Irish Spring!

What is the most random thing you have written off on your taxes?

Socks. Believe it or not, it’s a big thing for me. If I’m wearing socks that feel horrible I can’t focus as well. You gotta be comfortable out there!

When you travel, do you tend to travel light or over pack?

I start out packing light but I always over pack. I never realize how often I wear the same shorts/pants for multiple days.

If you happened to get into a fight, who is someone you would want in your corner?

Morgan Wade. I think he could kill a lot of people with his bare hands.

What was the last magazine article you read?

In the latest Issue of Wired there was an article called Trust US. It’s basically about pas/services and how the new Sharing Economy is changing the way we interact with each other.

What was the last purchase you made online?

A 10’x20′ army camouflage cargo net. I’m hiding some shit.

Thanks to Walter Pieringer for the pic.
