What better way to break in your new private ramp facility than to fly Corey Martinez over to flex his super human bike handling capabilities all over said ramp facility? I don’t know…
On Friday August 24th we held TEAM SHRALP’s YOU WON’T book release party at the Jack London Bar in Portland. Then Saturday August 25th we held the TEAM SHRALP Chunk-a-billy Bowl Bash at the Hood River Skatepark. Later that night we celebrated Austin McCabe’s 25th birthday. And then Sunday August 26th the McCabe brothers and I had a little session at the Donald Bowl.
Over the weekend I received an unexpected email from Scerbo containing a new Animal video. What? Yeah! It’s titled “Foreign & Domestic” and proved to be the perfect weekend viewing. Besides making me look cool, I had to mention said email in order to tell you that it’s quintessential Animal/Scerbo and that you should download it now. That’s right, this one is available as a digital download right now.
The first time I tried BMX racing was at the Christmas Classic in 1997. I had a lot of fun, but the “jumps” were more like hills, and the closest thing to excitement was watching Robbie Miranda call out BMX dads for smoking cigs at the track.
Looks like things have changed a bit. Click here to watch the Red Bull R.Evolution race in Berlin.
Really enjoyed this video documenting Arron Ross, Nathan Williams, and Tom Dugan’s Etnies trip to India. Loved hearing them talk about the trip and there’s some great visuals to go along with the commentary… Definitely looks like a crazy trip and shout out to Walter Pieringer for putting together a great video!
Quintin is back with some new goodies. Here’s a preview of Quintin’s Fall goods along with the first commercial. Good things to come.

Its about that time for the Quintin 2012 Fall delivery to start to hit the shelves of your favorite stores worldwide as well as our online shop. We initially released our Summer 2012 collection with a hint of what is to come from the brand including shorts, button up’s, t’s and hats. With the Fall 2012 collection we have come full swing as a brand offering a wide variety of items. It is tough for us to show everything to you so we have decided to pick out our favorites. As the Quintin brand evolves you will begin to see our lives influenced into each garment.
We started this brand for the pure fact that we love creating unique product, we always knew that we wanted to grow from a headwear brand into a full fledged company. With all of your support we are truly living the dream and we thank each and every person that follows our brand and allows us to do what we love. Hope you enjoy the Fall 2012 collection as much as we do. The Fall line is up on our store.
Check out these two amazing videos featuring two Porsche historians who can barely contain their excitement about the unique and special Porsches that rest in a storage wing of the Porsche Museum. After watching this, when I think about dream jobs… jobs you can’t wait to get to every morning… I will think of these two German dudes.
DOOM fans will be happy to know that he’s back with his wacky musical stylings. This time in the form of JJ Doom, alongside Jneiro Janel (cue Wikipedia look up). GUV’NOR is the first thing I’ve heard from this project, and I’ll automatically check for the whole thing since I’m down with the DOOM.
One things for sure, I watched this awkwardly interesting split screen video about 5 times in a row.
Semi related, MADVILLIANY is one of my favorite albums of all time.
While we are on the topic of things I don’t know anything about, I might as well keep going… Moving from motorcycles to cars, we have Singer Vehicle Design. If you are into Porsche’s (or just cars in general) you’ve probably seen these cars already, but if not, you are in for a treat. Singer takes modern Porsche’s and backdates them with pre ’74 bumpers and other details. This is something that’s been done for a while in the Porsche community and our friend Jim Bauer has doen this to both of his 911′s for a lot less then the price tag of these Singer’s (upwards of $300,0000). None the less, they are beautiful to look at and I’m sure even more incredible to drive (or sit in the passenger seat).
I don’t know anything about motorcycles and have actually never riden one in my entire life… But I do know when something looks good. I’ve been having a lot of fun digging through the CRD website checking out all their custom bikes dreaming of what I would do if I had my own bike.
Tom Grunwald just launched a new portfolio site with a bunch of great work he’s done for Animal as well as a bunch of other great graphics. Keep reading to see more of Tom’s work and check out his new site here!
Rene Burri… I’m really surprised we haven’t posted about him on the site before. If you don’t know, read here, if you haven’t seen, keep reading, then get ready to spend the rest of your day here.
Steve Crandall and the FBM crew headed to the recent Dew Tour in Maryland, armed with Christian Hewett and his camera. Click below to check out the pics from their trip.
Be sure to check out the edit that goes along with this too.
Tom Kirkby has launched Breaks Magazine online. Issues are every two months, and the content will cover a wide range of things over music, fashion and culture.
Hoang sent us this rad video he put together after a recent Subrosa trip to San Francisco. The video documents the trip through 3000+ photos and came out suuuuuper good.
