Almond in Tenerife

Almond just hooked us up with a link to a big feature that they haven’t even dropped on their site yet! A bunch of their crew spent five days in Tenerife, where they put together an edit, photogallery, and some fun interviews.

“We spent 5 days in Tenerife, we had the worlds worst van and instead of relying on locals we just drove everyday to different cities and beaches in search of spots. It totally worked out and we had such a cool time, waking up, drinking coffee, swimming and riding, evening beers and tapas, perfect holiday basically.”

The feature will be up on their site soon, but here’s a first hand look at the galleries and videos! Click here to check out the photos and keep reading to watch the videos…

With George back on his bike after his knee surgery, Randy starting to ride again after breaking his leg last year, Mikey hungry for some fresh spots, Brandon needing some sun and Deven getting the all clear from the doctors to ride. We headed from Austin to Denton/Fort worth area for 4 days to shoot for a edit. Here is some behind the scenes shots from the trip.

Photogallery: Out & About w/ Gsport

Yesterday I met up with Dave Thompson, Van Homan, Garrett Reeves, Randy Brown and Andrew Jackson, who are in Cali filming for an upcoming G-Sport Props segment. Stew Johnson was manning the camera and Andrew White was getting all the proper action shots for DIG.

I met up with the dudes at the hotel they were staying at, and then we proceeded to bounce around various spots in L.A. A bunch of good stuff went down.

As always, I snapped some photos throughout the day, so click below to check them out.

Banksy – Livin The Dream

I almost feel obligated to write about this since I’ve seen it a bunch on other sites, through my Tumblr and Flickr. I guess by doing so, I’m just adding to the hype, but whatever. I like Banksy’s stuff and make no bones about it. I also love when the haters come out on him.

Anyway… Banksy has been hitting up LA recently, and people have been coming across his stuff. Considering Exit Through The Gift Shop is nominated for an Oscar, none of this seems out of place. The above billboard takeover (I hate that term) on Sunset Blvd. depicting a coked-out Minnie Mouse and a sleazy Mickey is getting most of the attention, and even though it doesn’t scream Banksy’s signature style to me, it’s still rad. And it’s also now torn down. I’m sure more stuff will be surfacing.

Also, you can’t get more LA than ending up on TMZ, so I guess Banksy really is Livin The Dream.

Ian Morris – P.O.T.D.

Ian Morris is taking over the Photo of The Day on the sidebar for the next little while.

Cody Haltom / Gourdough’s

Seeing as Austin, TX is a big BMX town, chances are that some of you have been to Gourdough’s and experienced their over the top donuts. I myself have gone there each time I’ve been to to Austin, and highly recommend it if you have a sweet tooth and feel the need to pig out late at night. I knew the place was serious when I was looking over the menu and noticed “add $1 for meat”.

Gourdough’s is housed in an airstream on the side of road, and has some simple yet nice design (see above). Funnily enough, I was browsing Yewknee and came across Cody Haltom, who is the person responsible for the Gourdough’s branding. Sweet ! (no pun intended).

Check out Cody Haltom’s work HERE.
