Animal X Defgrip t-shirt

We teamed up with Animal Bikes and Edwin De La Rosa to produce a t-shirt featuring a photo that ran in the FW 2010 lookbook on Defgrip. The shirts are limited to 75 pieces and all ship with a full color zine featuring photos from the lookbook. The zine is really dope and we are stoked on how the shirts turned out.

So stoked in fact that we are also running a second design in three colors featuring a different photo that will be available on the Animal online store as well as your local bike shops!

Click here to pick up one of the limited shirts/zines from our online store and keep reading to check out more photos of the shirt.

The Twix

This is quite mad to say the least. Congratulations to Charlie Gumley from Beenleigh, Australia, for being the first to land a barspin and tailwhip at the same time. Something he calls The Twix.

UPDATE: Video with a clearer angle added.

Brad Simms Edit

Your boy Brad (who is currently down under) comes through with a quick one for The Set.

Revok

Revok is one of LA’s finest graffiti artists, definitely one of my favorites. The above photo was just posted on his site and it combines a new billboard, a sunset, traffic, the ocean and palm trees. Doesn’t get more LA.

I also just watched a new video of Revok speaking on a bunch of various subjects, which you can also check out below. It was put together by EIKNARF.

ODSY-VISION: Aaron & Tom in Korea

Aaron Ross and Tom Dugan recently went to Korea and brought back some good memories with them. From sitting through the rain, getting “X-ed” out of spots, sitting through more rain and not knowing what they were getting into at dinner, this travel log sums it all up.

Filmed/Edited by Walter Pieringer

Mutiny / Israel Edit

Here is the edit from our recent getaway to Israel.

Unfortunately as you may have heard Nathan got injured and flew home on the 4th day and Robbo broke his hand half way through the trip so I’ve made the best of a truly shit situation resulting in a pretty random film of Israel.

There’s a mix of the amazing country, good riding, good spots and one of the worst crashed I’ve ever filmed.

Get well soon Guys !

User-Controllable 360° Video

A company called NorthStudio360 has devised a way to shoot 360° video by apparently using six video cameras at once, and with their clever video player, you can control where you want to look while the video plays by just clicking and dragging with your mouse. The result is really amazing to interact with. Hit the jump to check out one of their user-controllable 360° videos, and for more of their work check out this blog post.

Endhiran / Robot

Endhiran, otherwise known as Robot, was released last year and is reported to be the most expensive Bollywood film ever made. If this ten minute video is anything to go by, I definitely believe it! The scene starting at 2:20 is absolute bonkers. Some of the craziest android sequences ever – like The Matrix, Transformers, and I-Robot all jammed into one… Bollywood style.

To add to the madness, this video is dubbed over in Russian. Enjoy!

Petition to Save the Lawn Trails

The above photo was taken of Keith Mulligan by our own Nuno Oliveira (whose work can be seen here) at our home set of trails just outside Los Angeles. The trails were plowed this morning.

Due to some swift diplomatic power moves by the daddy of the trails, Danny Downey, there is a seemingly solid chance that this spot could come back, only this time as a legitimate riding spot recognized and protected by the city. Which means our friends could all come ride it. Maybe even you guys. All you have to do is sign here. Quickly. Please.

Thank you.

IBM 100 X 100

Check out this amazing promotional film for IBM to help celibrate their 100 year anniversary. What IBM has accomplished in the past 100 years is astonishing and the concept of this film — each presenter states a IMB achievement in the year they were born — is extremely impactful almost drawing your attention more to the people than the actual accomplishment.

Travis Collier Defgrip Jackets

Travis Collier has been modifying and making custom clothes for as long as I’ve known him. The past few years, he’s gotten really into customizing military jackets, so we thought it would be really cool if he put together a few limited jackets for Defgrip! We have some available for sale on our online store now, so pick one up and keep reading to check out a bunch of photos shot by David Lang!!

I feel strongly about custom fit and detailing in clothing. So much so that I spend alot of time customizing my own wardrobe and accessories. These Defgrip jackets were a prime example of this. After creating one or two of my own, I received such a great response to the look and fit of them. So Defgrip and I decided to do a collaboration and make more. Each piece started as a vintage military fatigue, I then dyed, fitted and detailed each piece into an entirely different jacket.
