Desk

I’ve always been a huge advocate in having a good desk setup. I need a nice wide open space to work and I tend to work so much more efficiently when I am at my own desk. This video (that has been online for almost two years, that I just came across here) focuses on the subject of desks and what they mean to some influential people in the creative world. Along with some good insight how desks effect each person’s creative process, you get to see some great desk setups… Even a re-creation of Einstein’s extremely messy desk.

“If a cluttered desk reflects a cluttered mind, then what does an empty desk mean?” Yeah that’s very clever but F that. When I’m on the train home from work I wanna be Joe Dirt-ing my way through Craig’s List for vintage Benzes, not worrying about the undone work cluttering my desk. Clean desk clean life. But to each his own. Great video.

Hahaha. Same here brother ^. haha. There needs to be a sense of finality in my projects, and I guess I usually mark that with an organized, clean desk. A fresh, new, and fair beginning for the next project.

Word, it drives me crazy when my desk is unorganized. Everything needs to be in its proper place. Coffee, notebook, planner, action figures.

I need a new desk. I mine is always a mess. ALthought I enjoy a clean one. When I see pictures of super clean desks. I never understand how they are able to maintain that, I clean mine then it is instantly dirty.

I usually give way to lots of clutter over extended periods and then have myriad moments of overhaul, but the cleanliness never really lasts long. It’s amusing because during such an overhaul I’ll be very particular about where things go, but then when I’m done, and a sense of refresh is achieved, I make little effort to maintain the order I achieve… also I should mention that my desk is something i found in the trash and assembled with tape and stickers… so I don’t put a lot of value in it. Anything flat can be a desk.
