On the last leg of our trip to Portland, three hours away from our home in Chicago, we decided to make one final stop. We take the Davenport exit off of 80 at around 4 a.m. Most of the city is dark, there are barely any cars on the road, just us looking for the park we knew would be bright as day, a beacon on a cold night in Iowa. Even though we are exhausted and bruised and soar from sitting in a car for two days, we stop and have one of the best sessions of our trip. And as the sun rises, Ryan Wayne carves one last wall before our post-trip lives begin.
