Sam Adams sent over a bunch of rad shots from the Double Ditch Jam in Albuquerque. Check em out!
Last week as the 8th Annual Double Ditch Jam in Albuquerque, NM, although I now live in a different state I’ve still only missed one jam during its history. Things have changed since the first jam, but so many of the faces remain. It has always been about having a good time, riding your bike, and getting loose.
If you are into camera gear, like I am, then you’ll be into this update on Vincent Laforet’s site. Along with a video of a HDDLSR setup he used on a recent shoot, there’s a big updated gear section on his site breaking down all the gear he uses, what he uses it for, along with some pros and cons. For someone like me who has one SLR and a few lenses, this is pretty mind blowing to see all the stuff that he uses (and I believe he owns most of his gear), but it’s pretty cool to get an inside look into the gear of a top professional.
The Arcade Fire has a pretty rad website up utilizing HTML 5 and Google maps where you type in your address and an interactive video is built around your location. Check it out!
The Bicycle Film Festival is swinging through LA this week, and now all you West Coasters have the chance to peep the Mat Hoffman documentary as well as the Joyride art show which Edwin De La Rosa, Brian Barnhart and some guy named Spike Jonze have stuff in.

So August 18, Myself, Doyle, Darryl Tocco, KC Badger, Lil Jon, Tom Dillon, James Steele, Tenpacks Harley Haskett and Luke Santucci boarded a ferry for a picturesque trip to Vancouver Island. We stayed in Victoria for a few days hitting parks and trails all around the island. We met a ton of cool locals and hit a bunch of shops along the way.
Huge thanks to everyone who let us shred their trail spots, Tenpack for taking us out there and and everyone who made the island an awesome visit.
If you are a fan of Terry Richardson, you’ll like Japanese photographer Shoe! A bit more sloppy and free-flowing, Shoe has a great hand style and a serious collection of work.
Nigel turned 23 on August 23 and had a big ol’ birthday bash! Hosted by DJ Clark Kent & “Hawaii” Mike, sponsored by Nike 6.0, Hennessy Black, Corona Extra, LTD+, Vibe Magazine and DJ Clark Kent and music by DJ Soul & DJ Clark Kent with a special performance by J.Cole, the party sounds CRAZY!
I just listed all those names/companies not to rep, but to show you how official the party was. Before everyone hates, just think that because of riding a bike and being an awesome dude, you can enjoy success on a level like this!! Happy birthday Nigel!!!
Fuck it… Supreme is the best clothing brand ever. Every time they drop a line, I get a stiffy the size of the Empire State building. Even though I hardly own any of it, I think their stuff is always impressive.
Javas Lehn is a designer and one of my best friends who I met while we were both working at Superbig Creative in Seattle. Out of coincidence, Javas and I ended up quitting Superbig on the same day. I moved to Vancouver to work for MacNeil and Javas went to work for Hornell Anderson in Seattle. Over the past few years, Javas has got to work on some amazing projects at Hornell, including all the work for the Starbucks VIA packaging and a re-brand for Mammoth Mountain. In another random turn of event’s Javas and I are both going to be taking another big step in our lives at the same time. We are both moving to New York in the next few months (yes, you heard it right, I’m moving to New York). To get ready for the move and look for work in New York, Javas has launched a new portfolio site with a nice edited selection of work, as well as some really impressive photography. You can check out Javas’ site here – javaslehn.com as well as his Tumblr and Flickr!
The Ten Pack guys just threw up an edit from the Calgary/Edmonton trip that we had a Disposed up a few weeks ago featuring Dave Thompson, Kevin Kiraly, Wade Lajlar, as well as Corey Dewey, Jaumell Campbell, and Luke Santucci!
When Stanley Kubrick filmed his seminal The Shining, he allowed his then 17 year-old daughter Vivian Kubrick to shoot a documentary on the making of the film. What resulted is an incredibly casual but revealing insight into Kubrick’s process and even Jack Nicholson’s tooth-brushing technique. Really love this documentary. Check it out after the jump!
Justin Kosman put together this piece on Ron Miller and The Harveyville Project. It gives you a little breakdown of what The Harveyville Project is all about, but also focuses on Ramphouse.
