Photogallery: China 2010

This is the Bird and Insect Market in Shanghai near the Dongtain Antique Market. These men are looking at little cases containing live crickets, scouring for the best ones to use in fights. Cricket fighting has been a Chinese past-time for centuries and the tradition is certainly alive and well today. In certain parts of the market the sound of crickets was deafening.
