Build, the London based design studio of Michael C. Place has updated with a new website and a bunch of new work. Build has been one of my favorite designers for years and I always enjoy digging through his work.
Stevie Churchill got the name “lil Stevie” because he was our friend Jimmy’s little brother that would follow us everywhere riding. He would be trying tricks on a bike too big for him and actually be doing them. Seeing a 9 year old kid do fly out 360′s was awesome. I never really thought about it too much, I mean it was cool, but he wasn’t changing the world. I don’t really remember seeing him much until years later, and this little kid was doing 720′s down stairs. I remember asking Jeff Martin who that was, and he goes , “That’s Jimmy’s little brother Stevie, I told you he was gonna be good.”
Since we first meet he has pretty much stayed the same. He still has these wide eyes for riding and is always psyched to ride anything, A lot of kids will ask, why is he called lil stevie? Maybe it’s because he is still only 16, maybe its just a nickname that will be stuck to him forever; I call him that purely because he has a pure kids perspective of riding, and I am reminded of it every time I talk or ride with him. Reminds you really why you started riding in the first place, it’s all about fun.

Check out the stuff HERE. All designed and produced in house.
Trevor Jackson, who we’ve posted on before, has a profile on the ongoing series with Vice and Intel called The Creators Project. The video gives you a look into Jackson’s life as a designer, musician, and label owner. It also covers Jackson’s recent switch from living in a house with thousands or records and other items, to putting it all in storage and basically living/working out of his laptop and few small pieces of hardware. Keep reading to check out the video and make sure to spend some time on The Creators Project site. With almost 50 profiles up already and even more to come, there some great content and endless inspiration to keep you day rolling.
Barcelona took the 4 spot in the Nike 6.0 Standby series. Includes Sergio Layos, Nil Soler, Ruben Rodriguez and Daniel Martos. Filmed by Carlos Maqueda.
When I first got the email about this, I totally ignored it thinking it was another promo for the recent BCN PRO thing. Totally Confused. Thanks to Will Smyth for the followup.
However, here is the breakdown: As part of the BCN BMX PRO The Nike 6.0 Standby Barcelona competition saw 5 countries go head to head to shoot the best street film in Barcelona within an allotted time. Countries included France, Germany, UK, USA and Spain. Each team was made up of one lead director, one filmer and four riders. All of the countries had just one week to film and edit their entire section in a bid to bag the overall prize of €10,000
