Judging by the response to most automotive-themed posts here on Defgrip, it seems a lot of our readers are car enthusiasts. Below are a few really good automotive sites which feature (usually) the sort of cars that I love, and that most of you seem to love too… Listed in order of the frequency with which I visit them. American Muscle, German performance, Exotics, slightly modified, over-modified, classy, seen around town, professionally photographed, for sale, commentary, videos, specs… it’s all there.
If you’re even remotely interested in cars, the first two will blow you away (if you’re not already familiar). Enjoy.

The guys over at Freeman Transport, the very stylish hand-built collapsible bikes, have updated with a new websites. Along with everything you’d expect from a site as well as an online store, they have a new “troops” section with a very impressive list of people who will be blogging on their site.
You can check out the new Freeman Transport site here.

Remote camera angles are cool and I’m always stoked on seeing the process behind them. Cruising around some photography forums today I stumbled came across the site for Automotive Rigs – a company selling car-mount rigs designed specifically for automotive photographers. Check out some shots from their website and more rig photos after the jump.

Mike Netley sent through a sneak peek of the new magazine he has been working on, which is called Case BMX. Case will be a print publication based out of England, but will feature content from all over.
The mag should be available soon and hopefully it measures up as a whole so it can stick around for a while. Keep an eye on the Case site for more info.
Click below to check out some of the mag. You can enlarge the images by clicking on them.

Pentagram just posted some images of a book they designed for Wes Anderson’s new film, Fantastic Mister Fox. The book gives you an inside look into what it took to create the characters in the movie, showing all the fun stuff like character sketches, swatches, inspiration and notes from Wes Anderson. The book was published by Rizzoli and you can check out the full post on the Pentagram blog.

Architecture blog Dezeen posted some photos and info about the new London offices for one of Defgrip’s favorite design firms Wieden + Kennedy. Featherstone Yong, a London studio is responsible for the project in which they re-vamped an old brewery across the street from the old Wieden + Kennedy London offices. “utilizing the height of the existing shell to create a series of mezzanines and crows’ nests for creative contemplation. These mezzanines allow for visual connection between larger workspaces and more intimate ones”

Charlotte Gainsbourg has done a lot of notable things in the 25 years since she performed this controversial hit song with her dad; my most recent favorite being the song “Heaven Can Wait” with Beck, and its incredible video directed by Keith Schofield.
Click here for the Director’s Cut and an explanation which points out that the crazy and confusing images in this video are actually re-creations of found photos.

Cody Hudson, one of my favorite artists and someone who has been a huge influence on me creatively, just updates with a new site. This is actually the first time since I discovered his work years and years ago, that’s he’s updated with a new site and I just had so much fun digging through all his work. The site is broken up into two sections – Struggle Inc.® which consists of all his commercial work and The Life and Times of Cody Hudson, which showcases all of his art.
I had a hard time narrowing down what images to post, but check out a small selection of work after the jump and make sure to check out his new site!

On the strength of Jared Souney’s Tweets, I will most likely hit up Sweetpea Bakery whenever I visit Portland. I will also one day coax him out of his Contax T2, haha…
While we are on the topic, Jared has just re-launched his portfolio site which is nice, clean and fun to look around. Photography and design work aplenty!

Jordan Malama and the guys at Say Mayday have a great series going on called Shotwell. We linked up to the first series they did on Nick Ferreira a while back on Vimby, but they’ve since gone out on their own producing a piece on Kyle Emery-Peck (that I swear we posted on, but can’t find it anywhere) and have just released a new Shotwell feature on Filmmaker Alex Klein. Alex and a few friends spent two months in Gaza and Israel filming a documentary about the surf scene out there. Their film is called God Went Surfing With The Devil and keep reading to get the scoop on Alex and his film!
