Hoang Tran (who doubles as an awesome photographer) sent through some photos he took during the recent Subrosa Japan trip. The photos were all shot on film with either a Canon T60 or a Holga. Good stuff.

I’ve always liked the look of old bicycles. Japan was filled with them.

Whatever this sign says, Japanese people do not want you to do it.

Whenever we went to a temple there would be these water fountain things with bamboo spoons. When I first encountered it, I thought it was like holy water that you drank but later found out it was just for washing your hands… so I drank dirty water that people had been washing there hands with all day.

On one of the days in Japan, we went to an Island that seriously had hundreds of deers everywhere. They would just walk up to us and hang out…only if they had known Kyle has murdered two of their kind.

Japanese symbols in one of the beautiful temples we got to walk around in.

 Pathway of Buddahs.

I laid a coin on one of the many Buddahs. I always wish for the same thing but this might be the coolest place I’ve ever made a wish.

The whole time in Japan we didn’t see one bum. This guy was the closest to a bum I saw only because he was asking for money. He didn’t even talk, he just stood there silently holding the cup. I believe one of the locals told me he was a traveler.

People wrote wishes on these little pieces of paper and then there would be a ceremony where the wishes were blessed, then burned later on in the year.

 Japan kicks ass
