This is kinda old and hasn’t lost a shred of awesomeness. Charles and Ray Eames had the best design philosophy I’ve ever heard. Their pieces are some of the best-looking I’ve ever seen and are comfortable. They look like they belong in your house. A scratch just makes it look better. Think of a piece like the Wassily chair. It looks good but it doesn’t look like something you can lounge in. You can’t plop into it after a hard day. It’s furniture to look at, not live in.
