A few weeks ago, I went on tour with MacNeil Bike through Toronto, Ottawa, and Montreal. The trip was part of the Ten Pack Re-Session tour and the whole thing was amazing! David Lang was along shooting photos and there a bunch of great photos on the MacNeil site from the trip. There’s also an edit from Ten Pack that you can check out after the jump!
Nuno Oliveira just launched his very own photoblog! He’s been taking a lot of photos over the past few years and will have some great stuff for his blog. The site will have a mix of all types of photos and as Nuno says “Some might be old, some might be new, some will be film, some will be from an iPhone, but they will most certainly all be random.”
Thomas Prior is a photographer and assistant with a pretty incredible blog. It has a mix of his own photography with some behind the scenes shots on photo shoots he’s assisting. I only made it three pages deep, but grabbed enough images to keep me inspired for days!
Keegan Gibbs (who runs a sweet photo blog and shot this spread of Augor) just posted some pics from a recent trip to Bali, where he accidentally dropped his (cheap) film camera into salt water.
Click HERE to read about it and check out the results. Nothing too crazy, but they did come out with an interesting vintage feel.
Chances are though, if you tried this on purpose, you would surely have nothing come back, haha…
A few weeks ago our boy Skier Jay hipped me to yet another remarkable thing on the internet. Tonight I finally checked the link he sent me, and wow. According to the Brushfire Records website, this documentary “follows the 2008 trip of a group of surfers and outdoorsmen (including Keith Malloy) as they retrace the steps of Yvon Chouinard and Doug Tompkins’ 1968 trip to Patagonia”. An excerpt from the intro sums up the plot of the movie nicely:
“The hope of finding the last wild place on earth
Became the dream of saving it forever”

One of the better tracks posted on Kanye’s blog recently, go listen to “Auditorium” by Mos Def featuring an interesting verse from Slick Rick. The download link expired but once you hear it I’m sure you’ll find a way to get it. Or you can watch part of it live here. I’m very much looking forward to the new album produced by MadLib.
Side note: Ever notice how live hip hop is mostly terrible? Even the best rap tracks get butchered by the best rappers when they’re on stage. I think it’s all the yelling and running around, but I can’t be sure. I’m like come on man, I love your music, stand still, maybe play an instrument, slow your heartbeat, stop shouting. In stark contrast here’s Mos Def killing a live performance on the Letterman show.
Just got done watching this little video, which is essentially a commercial made to promote the HunterGatherer | Incase | Arkitip iPhone case and laptop sleeve.
However, this does give you some insight into the creative process of the guys who run the studio, as well as some cool stop motion animation in the middle.
Maicol Chavez, who’s done some stuff with Defgrip in the Real Ninja past, like putting together an amazing Autophoto, has been DJing with his friend Chris Mekdara, under the name Cru Joness and they put a rad mix together for Defgrip. Download and check out all the info after the jump!
Dropular is quickly becoming my favorite image bookmarking site. I’m really digging the new thumbnail layout and the “pool” part of the site really kills it for me. “Pools” are just categories of images based off tags or something, but seeing all the random images coming together in themes is pretty amazing. Check out a few screen grabs from different pools after the jump.
You know how if you see some one yawn, it makes you want to yawn?.. Well its almost the case here but with sneezing… An odd but good watch! check it out after the jump. Continue reading slow motion sneezing →
