León Ferrari

While I was in New York I got to see an amazing show at MoMo called Tangled Alphabets. The show is a joint exhibit “with two of the most significant artists working in Latin America during the second half of the twentieth century” León Ferrari and Mira Schendel. I was really blown away by León Ferrari’s work and thought I’d share some of the images I dug up online since I saw the exhibit. MoMa has a great mulitmedia piece on their site about the show that definitely worth a look. What really drew me to Ferrari’s work with all his lettering and ink drawings, like the piece above. I’ve always love loose hand done typography and I think what really draws me in to his work is the relationship between the thin and thick parts of his letters.

Check out a bunch of León Ferrari’s work after the jump –
