Check out a quick Q&A with Eric “The German” Lichtenberger, who you may recognize from the LEFT/RIGHT video, that Ride BMX cover and the upcoming Sunday video.
FULL NAME AND AGE:
Eric Colby Lichtenberger, 24.
HOW DID YOU GET THE NICKNAME “THE GERMAN”, AND WHO GAVE IT TO YOU?
My buddy Alex from GIVE D started calling me that because my last name was German, and that’s how “the german” came about.
YOU ARE ORIGINALLY FROM THE EAST COAST CORRECT? HOW DID YOU END UP IN CALI?
I was born and raised in Herndon, VA which is about 20 miles from Washington DC. About three years ago, my step dad got a job offer in California so I decided to go along and get the hell out of Virginia.
DO YOU LIKE ONE PLACE OVER THE OTHER?
YEAH, Cali is my one of my favorite places, but I love Virginia because that’s where my roots
are and all my riding started.
HOW’S LIVING IN HB WITH DAKOTA? GOOD TIMES?
Hell yea HB is dope, and living with Dakota is pretty cool.
WHO ANNOYS WHO THE MOST?
Haha.. I think I annoy everyone the most because I talk too freakin much.
WHO WOULD WIN IN A WRESTLING MATCH?
HA! Probably Dakota due to his overly big Popeye arms!
WHO DO YOU RIDE WITH ON A REGULAR BASIS?
Mostly my roommates, friends and whoever is in town.
courtesy of RideBMX.
YOU GOT THAT RIDE COVER DOING THAT REALLY TIGHT 180. WHO SPOTTED THAT SETUP?
I’m not sure, but I believe it was Jeff Z or myself.
HOW LONG DID IT TAKE YOU TO CONVINCE YOURSELF IT WAS POSSIBLE?
Haha, didn’t know if it was possible but I gave it a go a couple times and it worked out good.
HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR RIDING STYLE, AND WHAT KIND OF STUFF DO YOU LIKE TO RIDE?
I can’t really describe my riding style, but I am always down for a challenge and trying new things.
YOU HAVE A PART IN THE UPCOMING SUNDAY VIDEO. DID YOU GET A LOT OF STUFF DONE THAT YOU WANTED TOO?
Yes and no. It was difficult at times to find a filmer, but it all came together good.
TRUE OR FALSE. YOU ENJOY RAIL RIDES?
HAHA TRUE. When it works out the FIRST time.
ANY THANKS BEFORE WE WRAP THIS UP?
Hell Yeah! I want to thank Jim C at Sunday Bikes, everybody at Odyssey, Rich at Lotek, Ryan Navazio, Dave Jacobs, Phu at EPIC BMX Shop, and all the support from my friends and family.
