I thought that these Audi commercials were pretty funny and accurate because they made fun of Lexus, a car which no self-respecting car enthusiast would buy. But then I drove by their Santa Monica billboard which says “Your Move, BMW” and thought it was a bit weird, not just because it’s corny but also because comparatively, BMW is still actually a pretty decent German brand, in a douchey, 2nd-to-Mercedes-and-Porsche sort of way.
So it’s extra funny to me that BMW dropped a billboard directly across the street soon after, featuring the M3 Coupe and the word “Checkmate”.

Our good friend, designer, DJ, and BMXer, Smoovebert just got his blog back up and running.

Loft Life posted a tour of Photographer Andreas Larsson’s minimal Chicago loft. I’m really drawn in by the basic color palette, the black floors, his simple furniture choices and that little bulb hanging next to his bed is dope.
Check out the loft tour here and check out Larsson’s photos here.

While browsing Kitsune Noir I quickly fell in love with Hard Graft. Hard Graft is a accessories company focusing on bags and technology related items. I’m really loving their New High collection and I could definitely use a Y Laptop sleeve for quick meetings and trips to the coffee shop. But I think the product I was most psyched on, was their Mousemat Snap. A great solution for traveling, especially when you can’t find a blank surface for your mouse.
“Each individual hard graft product shows an impeccable old-world craftsmanship, timeless appeal and future thinking. We don’t follow the norm, we don’t follow the current fashion trends, instead we take our inspiration from past and present to create all time classics.”
Check out the Hard Graft site here and like any good company you can check their photos on Flickr, follow them on Twitter, and check their blog on Tumblr.

Toronto based photographer Brooks Reynolds has a nice update going on his website with a wide range of photos from music to BMX. Check out some of his work after the jump.

This post is a few days late, but Anthony Cozz sent over an email with some photos of his piece for Artcrank and bicycle inspired art show last week.
“ARTCRANK showcases bicycle-inspired original poster artwork that you can enjoy looking at and afford to take home. This year, ARTCRANK rolls out in Minneapolis on Saturday, April 4, and in Denver on Saturday, April 11.”
The print that Anthony had in the show is called Drop Sequence. It’s an 18″ x 24″ screenprint and you can check out a few shots of it after the jump. For more info on the Artcrank show check ou their website and chekc out more of Anthony’s work on his site – Snowblinded.com.

A while back the band M83′s record label held a contest to create a video for their song “We Own The Sky” and I just came across the winning video on The Fader blog. The video is a visually captivating, motion heavy piece, that was was created by David Altobelli. You can check the video out after the jump and check more of Altobelli’s work on his Vimeo page and website.

One of the many (and one of my favorite) architecture/environmental design sites Materialicious recently switched up their site from a traditional blog, to more of a image blog. They seem to be posting way more and have some great links.

Hypebeast posted an interview with graphic designer Eric Elms that is definitely worth a read. Eric Elms has done tons of great streetwear work starting out interning for Shepard Fairy at Obey when he was real young to now having a serious client list and doing solo shows at places like Collette. I’m real stoked on all of Eric’s work and I’m loving the office photos they used for his interview.
Yesterday we witnessed our boy Francis ride off Greyboy’s roof. I guess it’s pretty cool to say you rode a respected house that was on the cover of Dwell.
Here is the video of it courtesy of Ben Ward.

Sandy Carson just wrote in to mention that he has uploaded 2 collections of photos from his ongoing project, which he is calling ‘God’s Will Is On This Island’ -An Aftermath of Hurricane IKE on Galveston County.
Check out some powerful photos HERE. The one above is unreal, especially with that sign.

Here is the latest Big Big BMX show featuring some random chick, and a new Animal promo.

My boy Keith Terra (above right) has a Q&A over HERE.
I’ve known Terra for many years, and consider him one of the main dudes that made the trail scene on Long Island what it was back in the day (think 7-11 trails). He’s also handy with a camera. Be sure to re-visit his Autophoto.

If you are anything like me, and you’re into packaging, you may be into this site called Lovely Package that I just stumbled upon. It showcases a bunch of random products with nice package design, along with some info.
I’m liable to buy anything if the packaging is nice, even if I don’t need it, hahaha.
Also, I’m surprised this domain name hasn’t been taken up by some gutter-minded individuals.

I just stumbled upon this site from Klas Ernflo, some real solid work, and a very nice range of things.. check it out!
Check out this video interview with Deven Ferrer, who Mutiny just started hooking up.

We posted this video of Letman and his son nephew drawing each letter of the alphabet the other day and I thought I’d re-post some more of his work. We actual had post about Letman years ago, but it never hurts to revisit!
Check out a bunch of Letman’s work after the jump – Continue reading Letman →

Check out some great paintings from Ian Francis. Thanks to Jeff from Boooooom for the link!
